All around, Train is a total package of good music with smart songcraft.
As an album, it's better than anything else Train would later release. Instead of being full blown pop rock, you got some alt-country, some light post-grunge, and adult contemporary that doesn't sound dull.
"Meet Virginia" will always be their best song, even if "Hey, Soul Sister" is the most charming and playable.
Overall, a decent 7 out of 10.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it either, but Train's self-titled debut is some pretty solid pop rock. Genuinely some great stuff on here. If I had one complaint, is that the songs are mostly kinda slow. But if you can get through the slow pace, it's pretty decent.
It's also pretty funny that this album ends on TWO HIDDEN TRACKS. I've never seen that before lol.
