Static-X's Shadow Zone is a numbingly vacuous, no-dimensional dud that seems to have arrived via wormhole from 1998.

Shadow Zone is vacuous new-metal sludge that could almost pass for a Korn record.

Their debut is one of those "lightning in a bottle" kind of records, while it may not be perfect, it's a definitive classic of the nu industrial genre. Up until the first Project Regeneration, there isn't a lot that measured up to that same level of fun aggression and pumping evil disco rhythms that that one had.
This record is a more melodic take on the Static X sound, to varying results. For every banger like The Only, there's a So. Luckily, So is the only time in my recollection ... read more

Since their new album is almost here, I guess it's time for me to see who Static-X is as a band.

And I thought Wisconsin Death Trip was awesome. Static X is better than Linkin Park. The music sounds exactly like what Wayne Static looks like, and that's a good thing. I have officially found my new summer feel-good album. After listening to Deftones on my sad days for five years it might be time for a change.

Thankfully has the variety in sound that their last album, Machine, desperately needed.

Tons of bangers, and is easily one of the bands best projects! Was not expecting that going into this record.
