I wish this album was better, as since I first listened to the band some of my favorite songs from them are found here; sadly, there’s just a shit ton of filler. The banger songs bang but the rest is kinda mediocre at best.

Best tracks: I’m the One, Start a War, Skinnyman, The Enemy

Worst tracks: Brainfog, Just in Case, Otsego Amigo, Pieces

Without a few filler tracks this album would have one of the strongest second halfs of any Static-X album. I am absolutely in love with this band, and I wish I could've seen them live before Wayne died. His voice got better and better as they went and it seems like he never stopped caring about the music.

This album by this band is honestly my favorite so far! With the return of Koichi Fukuda in the band (he only preformed some guitars and programming on this album, Tripp Eisen did most of the guitar work) He proves that his return with programming makes this album a really fun treat! I’ll give this album a 5/5 for creativity with its electronics, the return of ulrich wild on production, and the instrumentation!

Start a War is an awesome release from Static-X. I appreciate how it kept the melodic vocals from Shadow Zone. The instrumentals are heavy and catchy, something Static-X has consistently been good at, the production is great, and what I enjoy most is the cool blend of screaming and melodic singing. Good examples of that mix are Start it Off, (also my favorite song on the album), Just in Case, and Pieces.

However, poor lyricism remains an issue, which as usual for Static-X, is what prevents my ... read more
