The fusion machine turns up the tempo and energy to 11 to make probably the most diverse record of their career. The fast-paced playing with guitar and keyboard solos taking the forefront is fresh and addictive. Allan Holdsworth's addition was a game-changer and a much needed breath of fresh air

i really don't know why ive taken SO long to finally get into hearing a Soft Machine album. But man, this album is incredible. Holdsworth is really one of the goats.

Hazard Profile is insane. One of the best fusion tracks out there. 5 movments, no dull seconds. A must listen.
The t/t is a very exciting piece for being so short and the same with Land of the Bag Snake. Amazing tunes.
The Man Who Waved at Trains/Peff starts really nice then gets fucking insane on Peff, I can't tell what ... read more

Awesome jazz-fusion record by Soft Machine! They are heavily leaning into guitars in this record, which is something shocking for Soft Machine, but it made this so so so beautiful and touching, mostly thanks to Allan Holdsworth's fascinating skills. Side A is focused on "Hazard Profile", which in itself is a beautiful medley, but separating the tracks was a mistake. A lot of them are pretty short, and the Side A of "Bundles" would benefit if it was all just one 20 ... read more
