“Madness” is hands down Muse’s most successful experiment in this arena, and it’s probably the record’s best track overall.

If this is the brave new world of bass, Muse make a solid case as to why, and how, rock can get involved.

Purists can hold tight to the molten guitar solo, while the rest can get lost in the churn of singer Matt Bellamy’s George Michael-channeling croon.

No Ripcord

It’s not a bad effort and a timely reminder that Muse can knock out a decent tune when they’re not galumphing around with everything turned up to eleven. Still, from Plug In Baby to this in a little over a decade – you can’t help but feel some disappointment.

I'm tired of pretending that I don't love this song who can't love the catchy m-m-m-ma-ma throughout and the final third with the guitar and Matt's vocals. Or maybe it's just a guilty pleasure.
