Even with the inclusion of a couple of duds on here like “Missed,” for the most part, Rapprocher is a tight little album full of melodramatic pop tunes dripping in ‘80s loving.
This is a fantastically arranged and conceptually exquisite record
Though its melodies and replayability mark Rapprocher as beyond the '80s-revivalist dross, what pushes the record to great places is its darkness.
The synth work on Rapprocher is particularly impressive, maintaining a tangy sharpness while a pop sweetness flows from every corner.
On Rapprocher, Harper's first official full-length album under the Class Actress moniker, exploration is kept to a minimum in favor of an overall more conventional form of songwriting and producing.
“Rapprocher” adequately describes the jump in mood between Class Actress’s Journal of Ardency EP to her debut full-length.
I think this is underrated as hell, this album made me fall in love with synthpop back in like 2012. Every time the weather starts getting cold I get the urge to revisit it. Weekend is a banger
An underrated post-chill wave synthpop album, there’s at least 5 classic bangers on here.
