Go 2 captures the moment, but it was rushed out too quickly. In fact, it could be the worst album they've ever made.

Go 2 draws on secondary sources - dub, some telegraphed idea of funk, and all kinds of social alienation - and makes something new out of it all, though it's not always listenable.

The album, while slightly more melodic, reprises much of the quirky, high-energy playing of White Music, but the material is considerably weaker this time out.

It surely isn't their strongest album, but it's not that bad. Also I think this is one of my favorite album covers conceptually, I love it.

Something of a step-down from White Music, Go 2 is XTC's weakest release by a wide margin. The first few tracks are excellent and I adore Barry's songs despite popular opinion (though my love of his band Shriekback has probably biased me), but, beyond that it's nothing special.
