Floating Point's second solo EP comes just two years after he broke into the soundscape with Vacuum, and I haven't decided if this is an improvement or not over that debut EP. Mrytle Avenue is a nice starter but it does get repetitive for me, most of the tracks here are a bit repetitive and don't sound nearly as interesting or as engaging as the first couple songs Floating Points released. I really dug this. I'm only familiar with his pharaoh sanders collab so I was excited to get to hear his more house focused side! It did not disappoint I really enjoyed the majority of the tracks! With the exception of the first track, the others felt a bit basic. The last half was amazing. I really like ARP3 it was well produced and had a nice bass heavy sound to it. Can't wait to check out more floating points!
Floating points debut album is pretty lack luster for me. Really long and drawn out songs that are pretty repetitive. All of the songs are ok but there is just nothing that intriguing about any of the songs on here that makes me want to come back to any of the songs and listen to them again.
