This is my favorite Autechre release I have listened to so far. It's a collection of songs that are build from very simple rhythms that are then layered and stacked upon each other to create intricate soundscapes of metallic, almost industrial beats. It's filled with surprises and creative ideas, leading to 35 minutes that never get boring. Inbetween there's some glitchiness, some record scratching and some vocal samples. If the last minutes of the closer wouldn't drag on, this would be perfect.
There's really not much I can say about this one. It's interesting on a technical level I'm sure, but for me it was a miss. The repetition, while I'm sure it has lots of building elements over time, just didn't strike me in an interesting way. The music itself wasn't quite memorable or fascinating to me. Overall just not a favorite. It was okay.
Goz Quarter is such a masterpiece. One of Autechre's best tracks.

This one took repeated consecutive listens to grow on me. It’s certainly good — very Autechre. But this one really made me realize these two guys are about the minutiae of a track, even more so than the releases before it. There’s always an overarching idea that stretches the song here, but it’s always slightly shifting and changing.
