Exciting, exhilarating, cathartic, joyous, and impossible to resist, Only Constant makes being in GEL sound like the most fun a musician could possibly have.
The New Jersey-based five-piece release their flawless new album Only Constant and perfectly express their musical accessibility without sacrificing their unrelenting sound or integrity.
Woah. Why have I been sleeping on GEL? This is exactly the kind of hardcore I love; fast and aggressive. This album doesn't reinvent the wheel, but what it does do is provide some great riffs to beat your friends up to. It has a lot of energy, which is pretty standard for the genre, but I haven't heard a record with this much intensity in a while (at least in this style of hardcore).
The vocals on here are insane, I couldn't find any information on the band members, so I don't know any of ... read more
When I get the chance to start working out again (busted arm atm), expect my score to rise by at least 10 points. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it doesn't hesitate to beat you over the fucking head with it either.
Grimey and fucking disgusting hardcore and crust crossover. Done incredibly well with the vocals being spat in your face over a distorted guitar that somehow still makes a melodic sound. This release is all gas no brakes, sIck.

Ehhhh...
Let's just disregard the horrible human being that is Anthony Webster for a minute, get the naming and shaming out the way. This album does not feel cohesive in the slightest. Yeah, this album doesn't really click with me, and again, while the situation around the band was, and is, absolutely horrible, I probably will not ... read more
Only Constant was Gel’s only album. This album is exhilarating & just so harsh. It’s brutal hardcore with hints of powerviolence. Sammy’s reverb layered vocals sound like a warcry. The riffs are so great. Lots of memorable breakdowns & two step moments as well. Even the run time comes & goes so quickly, this album packs an extreme punch. Long Live Gel.
