Devils and Dust is ... as immediate and troubling as this morning's paper.

Boss Or Toss?: Part 13.

Devils and Dust is not an album that I would have ever heard of outside of a Bruce Springsteen deep dive and maybe that’s because this one dives into the folk side of Springsteen again, following the immediate and fantastic The Rising, which I adored from the rip. Bruce going full on country with a dash of his usual rock sensibilities. Nothing is crazy spectacular on here but nothing is super boring either. The whole album is solid and the melodies and hooks aren’t immediate and sink their way in on repeated listens. It’s a well-written album that definitely is not talked about very much but it’s pretty good!

The opening song was beautiful. The rest was pretty good.Honestly, I wasn’t paying the closest attention but I liked most of what I heard. Still though, Bruce is a goat for real.
