Megadeth has gone forward instead of backwards, or stagnating and managed a feat I never expected of them: they produced a pretty kick ass record.
Endgame is Megadeth's first album in years to be more entertaining than a Dave Mustaine feud, and it's the band's heaviest, most consistent and finest hour since Countdown to Extinction.
Endgame is arguably the least commercially concerned Megadeth album since Rust in Peace some 20 years earlier, and by touching on so many of the favored songwriting styles of those early years, it should not only give their typically opinionated fan base very little to kvetch and moan about, but also throw new fuel upon the flames of Megadeth's unlikely longevity.
Endgame is as perfect as any thrash record of the current generation if not more so (near future Slayer release notwithstanding).
Endgame is the best album Megadeth have done in years.
Endgame is generally considered to be the best post-prime Megadeth album, and although I disagree with that notion, it's still definitely one of the best and contains some of the band's strongest tracks. Making full use of the Friedman Effect triggered by the inclusion of guitarist Chris Broderick as the replacement for a departing Glen Drover, Dave and the lads put together a thrashy, technical undertaking the likes of which hadn't been seen since Countdown to Extinction. COOL COMEBACK HUH?
Megadeth's billionth album or whatever finally shows what the band can do. Its of course nothing super stellar and mind-blowing, but its a refreshing listen for a band that got low with their albums.
I honestly have a lot less to say than i imagined but its more because im on a weaker mood today. I feel really down honestly (but dw im fine) but thinking about this album just didnt give me hope cause i know how the other albums are gonna be. Still i loved this one a lot ... read more

It's time for the final stretch in the Megadeth discography and that stretch begins with the bands 2009 album, 'Endgame' released under Roadrunner once again. Now the bands last full length record 'United Abominations' was a pretty solid album and was easily one of the best records that they've put out since 'Countdown to Extinction', the instrumentation was pretty killer, Dave ... read more
I think this album was definitely a step up from their previous albums. I really enjoyed the majority of the instrumentation on this album and there were a couple of tracks I loved on here. There weren’t any songs I thought were bad or forgettable on here either. Overall I thought that basically every song on here was enjoyable and I actually thought this was a pretty damn solid album especially this late in their career. I still like their older albums a bit more than this but honestly ... read more
Now we're talking.
This is the best Megadeth album after the hiatus.
Now there's a true Thrash Metal songs, with superb riffs and cool solos by the new guitarrist Chris Broderick.
The album doesn't fall off in quality in it's entire lenght, sounding fresh and modern.
I like this album a lot, even more than some old classics like "so far..."
Consistently a killer album from start to finish. One of the heaviest albums Megadeth has put out. One of their "return to form" albums that probably saved them.
