Listening through The Record produces better quality music than I was expecting, even if as an album it doesn’t really go anywhere

Let’s Have A War, I Don’t Care About You and I Love Living In The City are standout tracks that alone make the album worth listening through, especially considering it’s sub-half hour runtime. This was an energetic and fun listen even if it wasn't very innovative even for it's time. When it is pushing boundaries, it is tapping into more experimental takes on hardcore punk. But when it plays it safe, it sounds quite standard for the hardcore scene of the early 1980s. The album goes back and forth between true social commentary and snotty dumb-punk nonsense. I can't say this will become a classic for me, but it fits alright in the 80s punk cannon.
