If you like the new slowthai album ugly this is perfect for you. Mourn is an ambitious and extremely depressive project by Corbin. Everything on this album makes me sad. The vocal performance is raw and sometimes this rawest of the vocals adds depressing feelings with lyrics that are great in terms of dark poetry and storytelling. Production is varied and polished, I like how this album can balance Coldwave instrumentation with some Emo Rap aesthetics.
a great and very standout project in corbin's discog really showed his growth from his spooky black/lil spook days it set the blueprint for him going forward
"Mourn" is one of those albums that hits you with a whole vibe. Corbin dives deep into the shadows with this one—moody, cold, and full of raw emotion. The drums go hard in a subtle way, the vocals are full of pain and feeling, and the lyrics really stick with you. Songs like “Mourn” and “Hunker Down” are just beautiful, no other way to put it.
