One of my favorite AJR projects to date. The contrast between songs all while being under the same sonic theme is absolutely mind blowing to me. I love these songs with all my heart. I love how personal they are, and how they write songs about weird topics in weird ways that almost feels like they put my essence into a bunch of songs. That’s the beauty of it. Although Tyler Joesph and Joshua Dun only created this record so they would have something to play/sell during their early careers, I think this project is really strong. Songs like Be Concerned, Slowtown, and Glowing Eyes are really something special, along with Kitchen Sink, which is probably the most well-known song off this record. They really do stand the test of time with being super emotional and raw as it goes on. Beautifully made, even though it sounds a bit rough.
This album got me through the hardest parts of my middle school days, and still moves me till this day.
