McKinley Dixon - Magic, Alive!
100

Yeah, this is an album I'm gonna have to come back to and analyze in proper, but I couldn't go through this year without hearing this. One of the best hiphop albums of the decade for sure, and one of my favorite of the year.

Various Artists - Umamusume Pretty Derby BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK
100

I haven't posted a review on this website in a while, and though this might seem like an odd choice, I think it's worth writing something on this. Spoilers for Beginning of a New Era ahead, HIGHLY recommend watching that movie before reading.

I was introduced to Umamusume as an entire... series? Franchise? Whatever you wanna call it through Beginning of a New Era. That movie came at a point in my life where I really needed it the most, and it has quickly become my new favorite anime ... read more

Above & Beyond - Bigger Than All Of Us
100

I want to edit this review with a proper, full length review after I finish my "Above and Beyond Discography Deep Dive" series of reviews, however, I needed to get my initial thoughts of this album out. As an Above and Beyond fan for the past 15+ years of my life.

I cried multiple times throughout this listen. This has to be their best album since Sirens of the Sea with Oceanlab, a proper Group Therapy Part Two. There's so many unexpected moments yet stylistically familiar, at ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
90

I'm gonna keep this one real brief, at least by my standards.

Tyler the Creator dropped what I feel like is a punchy, short but still effective slow burn unpacking feelings of mistrust, struggling with both fame and public perception of Tyler, as well as interpersonal struggles with Tyler's relationships. This feels like a pretty logical sequel to a lot of themes on albums like Chromakopia and Igor, with quite a few other moments off his other albums.

"Don't Tap The ... read more

Little Simz - Lotus
100

Obligatory "Inflo should have just paid up, ffs".
I will finish this review later as I'm currently listening to this album at 2am as this is my most anticipated album of 2025. I'm completely blown away at the total left turn direction Little Simz has taken. The way I girl screamed seeing this album get fully uploaded is something of a personal core memory now.

I absolutely adore Lotus. This is an album we needed in the 2025 era. As much as I adore Sometimes I Might Be ... read more

Miley Cyrus - Walk of Fame (Edit)
100

Easily one of my favorite songs of the year. The hype is entirely justified.

Miley Cyrus - Something Beautiful
98

This is one of the most surprising listens of the year so far for me. As someone who grew up familiar with Miley's popular hits, of which I had to grow from being a performatively hateful "cis boy" to the woman I am today who has in hindsight grown to appreciate Miley's art? I am FLOORED by the quality of this album on so many levels. Something Beautiful earns its title.

I will edit this review with a full breakdown of my thoughts on every track (as I usually do with ... read more

Glass Animals & Denzel Curry - Tokyo Drifting
100

This is one of the funniest songs ever made. Denzel's verse is perfection, Dave Bailey's vocals are so goofy and the lyrics are absolutely stupid. I fucking love this song so much. This song pisses my best friend off and has become an inside joke so powerful in my friend group, that this song is literally banned on a discord server we share.

I'm back on my bullshit like Jordan on Pippen. 10/10 this collab is perfect. After TA13OO and How To Be A Human Being, both Glass Animals ... read more

CRAZYJustice - Be The Villain
69

I am sleep deprived running off of like 3 hours of sleep. This is one of the funniest fucking songs I've ever heard, I'm not sure if it's autotuned frantic vocals that aren't even in the right key for the piano melody against it, or the FL Studio default snare drum that constantly plays through this, but this is truly entertainingly bad.

Car Seat Headrest - The Scholars
17

Temporarily keeping my review mostly empty for a while. Editing down my review of this album.

I do not enjoy this album but I want to make it focused more specifically on the music and story here. Will update this with a revised review.

The Maine - Lovely Little Lonely
99

Without a doubt one of my favorite albums ever. This is one of the most underrated indie and pop punk rock albums of the 2010s. As a fan of The Maine, I truly think this is one of the best in their discography and stands out in the 2010s, ESPECIALLY the late 2010s for being musically consistent and yet it's still aged so well.

I think the first couple of songs fall into conventional heterosexual romance territory for The Maine, and yet, this immediately shifts into some pretty artsy and ... read more

Delerium - Silence (feat. Sarah McLachlan) (DJ Tiësto's In Search Of Sunrise Remix)
100

Ah, an absolute classic in the Trance music genre. This is one of the greatest remixes that Tiësto has ever made. I only enjoy the Above and Beyond remix of Silence *slightly* more than this, but this song has such a nostalgia factor for me I cannot help but give this a perfect score.

Sarah McLachlan's vocals translate perfectly into this style and genre, it's of no surprise that Silence was going to be remixed by many trance musicians. This song just rips. I don't have ... read more

Placebo - Placebo
98

An actual LGBTQ landmark album. A must hear for LGBTQ people, and a haunting listen that left me in stunned silence.

Placebo is one of the most consistent bands I've heard, throughout their albums they continue to impress me with how solid their sound is instrumentally, but the true star of the show is Brian Molko's lyrics and the subject matter he tackles.

Whether it be homophobia, alcoholism, drug addiction, depression, or grief? Placebo's debut self titled album really set ... read more

Weezer - Pinkerton
20

EDIT: 1/100 -> 20/100. I was far too harsh on this album and honestly, the self awareness of Rivers Cuomo saves this from being completely unlistenable. I still don't like Pinkerton, but WOW was I unaware of how badly overrated some other music can get. A lot of my read on this still stands but I don't hate Weezer, if anything I'm coming out of this a fan.

MASSIVE CONTENT WARNING FOR MATURE THEMES AND DISCUSSIONS OF GROOMING. This is quite possibly the worst Weezer album ... read more

Vylet Pony - there was a dragon tamer
100

Vylet Pony comes out with even more hauntingly beautiful music. I'm so excited for the new album.

bbno$ - boom

FUCK THE CLAN UNLESS IT'S WU TANG

This shit is funny idgaf. I don't have any complex thoughts.

samlrc - A Lonely Sinner
100

This album is Unrankable. Truly. Trans women do it the best. I have absolutely no fucking words. All I can say is, this and Monarch of Monsters are sister albums in more ways than not. Tackling many of the same issues while doing it through two completely different avenues musically. Where Monarch of Monsters goes all out, with no subtlety or room for ignoring its overarching themes, A Lonely Sinner best utilizes "Less Is More" while letting the instrumentals hard carry what few ... read more

Dabu & Brigitte Nagger - Goodbye Volcano High Soundtrack
100

GOODBYE VOLCANO HIGH SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT:
This is my absolute favorite video game soundtrack of all time, and it is truly a shame what happened to Goodbye Volcano High as an entire game and piece of media in terms of being swept under the rug. This OST album is so intertwined with the story and themes of Goodbye Volcano High, it is one of my favorite executions of giving a video game soundtracks a proper emotional punch that truly helped me in a serious point of my life. As a nonbinary trans ... read more

Above & Beyond - Can't Sleep
100

This song is absolutely fantastic, and relistening to it again in context with all of Tri-State reminds me why this is one of my favorite bands of all time. Above & Beyond have some of the most compelling, if still very accessible, production and songwriting in the trance music world, and this song is no exception.
Can't Sleep is a song I've had much to say about within my review of Tri-State, but I need to come back here and give flowers even more properly. Whether it be the ... read more

OceanLab - Sirens of the Sea Remixed
100

An incredible collection of remixes, to an already absolutely peak album. This is when trance music had some of the best production, best talent coming together to adapt some of the best trance songs ever made to a series of absolute banging danceable remixes. I don't have much more thoughts on this that I won't already be expressing on my review of Sirens of the Sea's core material itself, but some of my favorite remixes on this record have to be;
- Ashes (Oliver Smith Remix)

On TheMachine's review of Above & Beyond - Bigger Than All Of Us
"I totally get you on trying to find modern EDM projects, from legacy acts or new artists alike that feel properly complete as albums. If you want an EDM album that feels like a proper start to finish experience and storytelling masterpiece, even if it's something that might be initially out there? I have to recommend Vylet Pony's new album "Love and Ponystep". It's an excellent mix of EDM styles (namely brostep) but tells a really hard hitting story to match (featuring the narrator VA from Disco Elysium, Lenval Brown, no less!) Anyways I fully agree with how phenomenal this album is. Said more in my own review but this is definitely their best material since Group Therapy and Sirens of the Sea. Well worth the wait after Common Ground!"
On i chased a crow's review of Vylet Pony - Monarch of Monsters
"One of the most honest reviews I've read yet. I'm glad this album connected and helped you too. This really is one of the best musical experiences of all time."
On D603136's review of Vylet Pony - Love & Ponystep
"When you've got the time, I highly recommend going back to this album and following along with the story it tells. Top Five Videos as a character in this album has one of the most deeply relatable BPD and relationship breakup + subsequent spiraling experiences ever, and there's a serious self help message underneath the memes and bass music. Great review, though!"
On sciencefairs's review of Vylet Pony - Love & Ponystep
"You nailed it on the fucking head here with how it sucks when people trash on art that seriously helped you, but furthermore, refuse to engage with it seriously or even outright missing the narrative, the greater points in the music, and judging it on the most base level surface things and "cringe" parts. Vylet Pony's music isn't gonna be for everyone as it tackles specific transfem neurodivergent experiences, but like. Albums like Monarch of Monsters helped me kick a multiple years long nicotine addiction and process serious trauma. This album is doing even more for me on that front. This shit saves lives. That's real art and real powerful music that can't be written off easily."
On endlessangels's review of Vylet Pony - Love & Ponystep
"I'm glad we all agree Falling In Love With A Corporate Illustration and Walking Beside A Dragonfly are amazing songs LOL"
On mangoat's review of Vylet Pony - Love & Ponystep
"@mangoat and, was the ableism warranted? Maybe you are one of us but that still doesn't make it not weird lol."
On Esbi's review of Vylet Pony - Love & Ponystep
"This album is even better when you've got context with Girls Who Are Wizards, Carousel, I Was The Loner Of Paradise Valley, CUTIEMARKS and Can Openers Notebook in mind. Love and Ponystep is the perfect sequel to all of it."
On mangoat's review of Vylet Pony - Love & Ponystep
"Genuinely a weird comment to leave on unironically good transfem art tbh"
On Ins3ct's review of CRAZYJustice - Be The Villain
"Unironically one of the funniest and best reviews I've ever seen on AOTY. Thank you for this masterpiece review."
On jaderemover21's review of Vylet Pony - Monarch of Monsters
"Absolute freaking W statement. This album was something I was terrified to listen to based upon every content warning I've gotten about it, I had a gut feeling this would have been an emotional nuclear bomb but nah you're so right. This truly is one of the greatest albums ever made. W to transfems and MLP fans and furries and internet subculture fans everywhere."

On BetaR0c's review of Angels & Airwaves - We Don't Need to Whisper
"Atom Willard has to be one of the best drummers in rock music, you can tell he had a lot of fun recording and playing the drums for this album. Jeff "Critter" Newell is also a great sound engineer who really brought the drum tone to the nines."
On HalfsourDyl's review of OneRepublic - Waking Up
"Thank you for having the courage to defend one of my favorite overhated and underrated albums ever. Waking Up is one of my favorite albums ever, it's so nostalgic and important to how my music taste formed as it was the first album I ever listened to in full when it released in 2009."
On winternimbus's review of Vylet Pony - Monarch of Monsters
"This genuinely is one of the most raw, uncomfortably personal yet entirely relevant points to make when it comes to music I've ever seen in any music review. I've had to take a long time to come up with my thoughts on Monarch of Monsters, and yet we know how much this album impacts us as transfem people. I genuinely think this is one of the best albums of all time, and this review should be taken seriously."
On Cyiniz's review of AJR - The Maybe Man
"As much as I could disagree about how much the lyrics connected on some of these songs, I'm glad you still gave this album a fair shake. I am relistening to The Maybe Man as I'm writing this comment. It's a good album."
