While I really enjoyed his previous album, I think 2 Alive is not bad, but not as unique in terms of beats and performances. There are some great moments here, mainly with Still countin and Double - both have pretty unique performances and great beats. What I miss is Yeat doing these different flows and vocals more often (last album had Turban, Swerved It, Rokstar, and even his SoundCloud hit Dub that wasn't in the project, unfortunately). Mount Eerie is more focused on its concept than The Glow, Pt. 2, with song structures and sounds more invested into the lore. Even if it does that flawlessly, it's notably different from its predecessor in a way that songs are individually not as memorable and relistenable, considering songs have really long intros/outros and break out of general structures pretty often. Never been so excited to listen to the other records of any band, but I'll need a fair bit of time to digest this album. The transitions, the concept, everything is so perfect. It gives me a really strong feeling of being on a little dark village, in the middle of an isolated island, where everything seems weird, but comforting ate the same time. Pretty similar to Anti-World, but less filtered and more raw. It's pretty noticeable how better he has been with mixing in general, with some songs here having bad mixing and mastering. Still, it's really a Sybyr album.
