Not really abnormal but ok
A bland, but firm and sturdy album overall. This is basically a typical Indie Rock album with slight twist of sounds. It is distinct at some point, but nothing dramatic or striking.
What makes this album special is that the basic elements are very stable, thus making synergy with those slight twists, which makes the experience really enjoyable while being safe. Although the bland atmosphere makes the experience underwhelming sometimes, this album shows why basics ... read more

Magdalena Bay's Imaginal Disk was one of the strongest upcoming AOTY material of 2024. Yes, this is a great album, but I guess Parannoul and Vampire Weekend remain still.
Before talking about flaws, lets talk about the good points first. Basically this album is a great synthpop album with great variants of old electronic sounds & psychedelic effects. Generally an album becomes utterly consistent and enjoyable if both of these elements are ... read more

Basically, this album is NF but with worse vocals and metal. Every track is corny, unstable, and somehow forgettable. Almost half of the tracks were unlistenable, especially Ronald was the worst track of the decade. I guess there are some highlights(relatively), but I still don't see any reason to listen to this album.
Maybe they should fire their vocals, that would make it much better.
Overall: 26.9-5(Fluke spike ... read more
Justice rains from above
I used to remember this group as 'guys that made funni dance music' before Hyperdrama was released. Hyperdrama was a big success at least for me, and now I am reviewing their first, and the best album.
Before I start, I have no idea what to call this album; I can't write what AOTY suggests and Spotify wrote as self-titled. Maybe I will call this album Cross.
While Hyperdrama is quite polished, Cross feels more raw and wild. But I feel this album has ... read more
I listen to 'better music' ahh album // The best unfinished album of all time
I reviewed Sweet Trip's Velocity : Design : Comfort yesterday, and this album has a similar factor to that album: IDM combined with another genre. And I found VDC is vastly better in terms of combining different genres.
If I'm right, members of Radiohead had a severe conflict with the tracklist. And this conflict surely appears in a bad way. There are several major problems, but I'll give ... read more
Mint Chocolate but delicious
I guess this album is the best IDM album by far, and one of the best Shoegaze album. I never expected nor experienced this kind of genre-mixture. IDM is usually ambient and hollow, while Shoegaze is loud(extremely) and topfull. Sweet Trip reached peak at each genre, and successfully blended these two, which made a unique, fantastic output.
...Only in terms of track. This album's biggest problem is that the placement of the two genre is severely unbalanced, ... read more
Band name sounds like they could erase time
I listened to this because Spotify wouldn't spare me from recommendating this before listening. Well I won't delete Spotify lol
This album, which is born earlier than my mother, is a masterpiece that didn't tarnished at all for the last 50+ years. The instruments are used perfectly, arrangements of each track are insane, overall very joyful and dreamlike experience.
There are some flaws tho; the 4th track felt really empty, and maybe ... read more

After Torches, I completely forgot this band for ages. Actually, I heard and enjoyed songs like Sit Next To Me or Best Friend after Torches, but this is my second album experience of Foster the People.
Anyways, The bottom line is: massive success. I didn't hear to SHC or Supermodel, but if Torches is better than those 2, then this album is their career-high. This album is consistently funky and groovy throughout the whole experience, while not missing the emotions. Yes, there were ... read more
Textbook of psychedelic music
I wonder how the hell these guys made this over 50 years ago. This is an absolute masterpiece, and still the best psychedelic album of all time. The atmosphere, organic flow, everything surpasses psychedelic albums that are released these days. Pink Floyd proved that they had vision ahead 50 years at least with this album, and this explains how great is this album.
+) I guess I should rate the last 2 tracks together, so 100 for brain damage only. Also Time ... read more

Kendrick Lamar's 3rd LP, To Pimp A Butterfly might be the best political(or social?) album of all time. He spouted his every last drop of consciousness and creativity at this album.
Well, I couldn't tell about how accurate he is since I never came in contact with a black community(I am Asian, and our country is a single-race nation.). But what I could feel about this album is Kendrick's sincere thoughts, and the universal ideas... like ... read more
Fantano is crazy
First listen was kind of a disaster, but I guess it quite grew in me. Productions worked generally, but it was also flabby; it was at between ambient and messy.
Vocals were also strange, everyone except Pusha T feels like they haven't slept for ages. This kind of singing(or rapping) fits quite well with those productions, but it also enforces the flabby mood of the experience.
Yes, it is worth for a listen; Those what I wrote before were the shorts of a good album, but ... read more
Critics meatriding Kendrick
This is my 3rd Kendrick album that I listened to, and the 1st one to review. The other 2 are bit complicated to make a conclusion, while this was pretty easy to find out how do I feel.
Yeahhh... it's not a compliment. This is far shallow comparing to GKMC or TPAB, both terms of each track and the album's organic status. Especially the latter is even worse than Clancy. Also, the second half(after HUMBLE. to be sure) was quite disasterous considering the ... read more
MY COUNTRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Parannoul, who dropped his 3rd solo album last year, dropped his 4th album outta nowhere. And it is a true masterpiece. This easily outrunning his previous projects, and I personally declare this album as AOTY(by far), and one of the best shoegaze project.
Everything about this album is decent, but the usage of instruments(especially the piano and rings) emphasize the nostalgic theme extremely vigorous and powerful, which makes the album stand at the summit. ... read more

Not much to say, a good~great album to chill. Those psychedelic sounds arrange well, and make synergy with the album cover. The correlation with the first & last track was also memorable. Catchy and cool album.
However there will be no consolation points; the album is too short if excluding the interludes. I would have given minus points if it was slightly shorter.
P.S. Blast Off might be one of the best interludes ever tho

The green fragments of the cover must be marihuana
Neo-Psychedelia+Chiptune is surely a interesting, and perhaps the most dreamlike and high union of music. Merriweather Post Pavilion consistantly maintains those elements, meanwhile making the experience joyful and childish(in a good way).
However there were some shorts. The reason I mentioned marihuana is not only because its psychedelic atmosphere, it is because some parts are actually saggy which makes the experience a bit dull. But that ... read more
Knocked Loose but hiphop
Overall a rollercoaster, the first leg was fine, second leg was great, and the last leg was sleepy.
This album has both metal/rock sounds & calming/pop sounds. It seems like tracks that are balanced with both sounds are the best tracks of the album.
This means tracks that are leaned at one side are mostly not great. I understand this is a hiphop album, but I cannot pass the shallowness of those tracks. This is a good~great album, but nowhere near phenomenal. I ... read more
Billie Eilish glazer ahh album
First of all, this album shows how to gather momentum, and explode it. Every artist who wants to make emotional music should look up to this album. This album gathers momentum slowly, but stable. Then, they blasts it to peak tragic energy. In this way, they not only describes their emotion, but also dominates the world that they invited us. This means that they completely controls our emotional domain, and assimilates it to theirs. These guys perfectly succeed to ... read more

I thought Brat was overrated, and this album teached me what does overrated mean. The first leg was a total disaster execpt for the first track. Actually the production was already unstable at the first track, but the production completely lost control after that and turned to a messy earrape/or became generic and forgettable. Vocals didn't help much, those were corny and cringe.
The second leg was vastly better. Production was still unstable at few tracks, but some were perfectly ... read more

This is a absolute zero but I'm giving 67 bonus points because it's lord Eminem
Eminem finally came back since MTBMB, and I could say this is a progress. One thing special is that the tracks connect quite organic, comparing to his previous projects. Considering that this is a concept album, it is a extra wise choice that pull listeners into his world.
And I found that the singles are also enhanced inside the album. I ... read more
