I never really thought I would like BMTH, so for me to find this as good as it is is a huge surprise, because this thing actually hits so hard.
I listened to this on a road trip to virginia, peak experience.
This is definitely coldplays best, no question about it. Its definitely pretty polished but in my opinion that works in its favor. Its still definitely coldplay, but its coldplay thats good. Idk what else i want to say so ill come back to this later.

Muse has drawn a lot of comparisons to radiohead over the years, and especially on this album its easy to see why. Its practically soaked in radiohead influence. But, I still enjoy it. Is it their best? No, but its got some good songs on it. It definitely loses its steam in the second half though, but the first half is really good. The title track is simply amazing, and I really like the first 2 as well.
My dad told me a story of when this album came out, he put the cd he just got into his car and hit play, and his initial reaction was along the lines of "What the fuck? Did i pick up the wrong cd somehow?"

The longer the days go by the more im convinced theyre just not gonna release anything else, theyre just trolling at this point.
This is, for now, Radiohead's last album, and its been that way for 9 years now. And if that is the case its a decent note to end on. Is it the best? Obviously not, you have Ok Computer, Kid A, and In Rainbows to compete with. But is it among the best? Yes, I'd say its right under the big 3.
