A clear downgrade to the group's first masterful album, Portishead's Self-Titled change the sound ever-so-slighly, with less trip-hop elements, and it seems that Beth Gibbons's voice has gotten a little more obnoxious, for a lack of a better adjective. Despite all that, the project is definetly still pretty great, and worth listening to, if you loved "Dummy" like I did.

I have been listening to a lot of trip-hop songs for the past few months, but this is the first time I heard an album of the genre. Portishead's Dummy, is a masterful melancholic jam, the vocalist (Beth Gibbons) has an absolutely beautiful voice, that compliments every peculiar instrumental featured in here. It's profound, extremely atmospheric and just out of this world. If you haven't listened to this already, please give it a try.

Now, i decided to return with an album i would have LOVED to listen to in my little ''nirvana phase'' last year, Nirvana's Nevermind. In my opinion, their worst and most disappointing record, it still is pretty good though. Nowhere near Mesmerize, but solid. I also think that ''She's Like Heroin'' is the worst song SOAD ever made (Will they die 4 you doesen't count).
FAV TRACKS: Hypnotize, Soldier Side, Kill Rock n' Roll, Stealing Society, Lonely Day
LEAST FAV TRACKS: Tentative, U-Fig, She's Like Heroin
This is SOAD's second best project, it's reflective, profound and chaotic, as most of their albums are. Altough, this one feels somewhat less abrasive as the self-titled did, which still was amazing. I don't have much to say, it's just an awesome album.
