I love the extended metaphor for the meaning behind the songs this album is so good.
It’s definitely not on the same level as some of their later albums but it’s not half bad. It has a much rawer sound and is a very energetic album overall.
It's definitely my least favourite neil young album I've listened to but it's still a solid album honestly. With that being said my Dad says he prefers it to after the gold rush so maybe it'll grow on me.
It's a great album, upbeat and loud. It has great vocals and catchy songs, the only thing which I think limits this album is that it doesn't necessarily feel particularly original.
It's a good live album but I just think I prefer the studio versions of these songs, also I think some of these songs are weaker
I can't believe I never realised aladdin sane was 'A lad insane'
This album was the follow up to ziggy stardust, recorded in America during the ziggy tour. One of the ideas behind this album, as Bowie stated in an interview, was ziggy going to America. Ziggy was based on the perfect rockstar coming down from space whereas aladdin sane very much represents the dark side of fame.
This is one of Bowie's best in my eyes and it has some of his best songs. With that being said ... read more
So good, he sounds amazing the lyrics are great. It’s a melancholy album but not in a bad way, not a single bad track on the album!
One of the best, most influential albums of all time. incredible throughout even the 'weaker' songs are really good.
I think this is definitely a better album than a day at the races, it's got more hits on it. That being said though I do think it is really inconsistant and some songs like I'm in love with my car could have been left off.
It's definitely not my favourite queen album but it has some really good songs on it with no songs standing out as bad. As per Freddie sounds really good and it has some good guitars and piano too.
I didn't love this album upon first listen but after a few listens I have grown to really like it, I think it has some really good songs with my favourite being when the music's over. I think it is definitely a good deal weaker than their debut however but I would say none of their other albums reach that peak either.
I find this album to be particularly uninspired and boring, it's definitely my least favourite the doors album I've listened to. I think the only song I would come back to this album for is wishful sinful, although it is not a bad sounding album I just don't think that it is very interesting to listen to.
This album is by no means a bad listen, it is however nowhere near what the doors have shown themselves to be capable of. I don't think it is awful, there are a few hidden gems but on a whole I wouldn't re listen to this.
This is one of the most fun and light hearted albums I've ever listened to, it really makes me smile especially songs like tread water and potholes in my lawn. Furthermore the samples on this album are amazing (especially the steely dan sample in eye know), the interludes also fit in so well without feeling like they are taking away from the music.
Although I'm not a huge fan of Oasis and I find the song writing somewhat uninspired, this album does have some very good tracks on it such as; don't look back in anger and cast no shadow. Although I don't love Oasis as I've said the one thing I think that they do very well is encapsulate an upbeat lively feeling
This is another fantastic doors album, I think the thing which makes it better than Morrison hotel is that it is more consistent in styles I don't think the individual songs are too much better but as a whole the album feels slightly better polished.
This is not my favourite Bowie record by any means but it is still an absolute masterpiece, the vocal performances on this album are incredible and the instrumental tracks are also very good.
It certainly feels a lot more unique than deceptive bends although I'm not sure if that works in this albums favour or not, it has some really great tracks like I'm not in love and the film of my love but I find this album to be fairly inconsistent in terms of quality.
The song writing doesn't feel particularly inspirational or clever but with that being said it is a catchy album and a very enjoyable listen although I wouldn't describe it as anything special
The individual songs of this album are really good but it just feels very dis-jointed and doesn't follow a continuous feel, although this may have been what they were going for I think that is what holds this album back from being higher rated. That being said it is not a bad album by any means and it does make for a really good listen.
