Where Shine Again gave me Blue Album vibes, We Might As Well Be Strangers feels more akin to something you'd find on a much later Weezer release, although, while modern Weezer is mostly mediocre or just decent, this track is a banger just like their last.
If Weezer manages to crack the top 5 best albums of the year in 2026, I will be surprised, but very glad. And for what it's worth, I think they're on track to do so.
Between this track and We Might As Well Be Strangers, I'm excited for the Gold Album in a way that not all Weezer albums make me.
Shine Again goes insanely hard and has a very Blue Album-y vibe, and like every song on that album, it feels incredibly distinct and memorable, which is something that often holds back Weezer tracks post-Pinkerton, in my opinion.

Blue Morpho is a very pretty and relaxing album that I could see myself using quite a bit as background noise.

Inferno shows that Boards of Canada have still got it, even after such a long hiatus, in which, as far as I'm aware, they hadn't released any other music.
While not exactly what I would call their best work, this album provides some very beautiful, lush and unique soundscapes which are a joy to experience, and that's really all I need from BoC.
