album of the day PT.1 - First show (first 7 songs)
ok so. i didn’t have time to listen to the whole thing today so im doing it in 3 (or 2) parts. today i listened to the first disk and this is probably my favorite thing from the band so far. it’s got some slower tracks, some really great reworking of classics, and… the best song ever.. field of artificial flowers WITH A SAXOPHONE! who could ask for anything more?
10/10

grindcore has never been a genre that's interested me all too much. i guess i just never understood it, but i think i get it now. this sounds so cool and inventive. i don't know how i would describe it but this is just so fun. again, there's definitely something im missing here, but the riffs man...

this guy knows his way around a melody. every song on here is so effortlessly gorgeous and catchy. this is the perfect thing to listen to once everything else is unappealinng and you just wanna hear something with pretty melodies and a little bit of spice. finally, a project worhty of being called "art pop."

more of a demo tape than anything, this project consists of mizutani’s folk demos which are some of the most simply beautiful i’ve heard from him, a sister ray-esque interpretation of The Last One, and a song from Les Rallizes Denudes. all in all, this is pretty great. the obvious standout here is the more melodic iteration of The Last One, but the rest just can’t be ignored.

this is more than JUST a trap album. its so fun but i dont have anything to say about it other than it's super fun to listen to. love young thug, skepta, and uzi's features.

it's probably the best lrd i've heard. it's at the very least toe one i'd call beautiful. the 2nd ver of white awakening is just. god. and i don't even like it as a song that much. also, field of artificial flowers . man. this whole thing is so good - all it's missing is flame of ice in full.

this is good - 0i like the more lowkey standard psych rock on here. its nice to hear different interperetations of sons i already know. but to be honest, i don't love the long ass versions of the last one that don't feel as evil as the one on 77 live for instance. it's a good album, it just doesn't have the same menacing energy of 77 live or the energy of double heads ora nything.

nearly impossible to hate. this doesn’t feel too special, it’s just pretty. i don’t think i enjoy it like a crazy amount, but on a cold november night, it’s just what i need.

i feel bad for not enjoying this but it was just... meandering. honestly, it's really commendable how a bunch of kids younger than i got together and made this, but i just didnt enjoy it. it overstayed its welcome and the repeating motif just... wasnt all that. i could also tell that sone of the people playing lacked proficiency and that was lowkey a damper on my enjoyment. i feel like post rock as a genre is used to mask your "less than virtuostic" playing and here it's ... read more

this project has a lot going for it. it starts out as like a spacey jam with these like choral vocals over top. the drumming goes away for a period of time and then they come back and the song becomes a late boredoms esque jam. i wouldn’t say it’s better than a lot of their stuff, but the fact that it’s one single song helps out a lot. one thing i’ve noticed from the boredoms is that every one of their albums with an incredible song throws filler ... read more

neat. reminds me a little bit of slint but not much— it resembles them but there’s much more space being filled here. i think i like the 2nd halves of the songs much better than the first halves. the builds to the crescendos are pretty give or take, but when they reach the climax, the album gets really appealing.

really sweet. i lovelovelove it when the lil motif from the first track comes beck on other songs, i just wish it came back on the last track as a means of like bookending the album. other than that, its not much to write home about, but this is hella underrated.

certified bangin midwest emo project. the album cover and the band name don’t do this thing justice. the short songs are so fun and bright and the 26 minute runtime makes this album a breeze! i would listen again. definitely frontloaded, as the sound gets a bit stale at the end.

i’m a big fan of this album’s focus on atmosphere over like - rock influences. i just wish it was either more abrasive or more melodic. it feels like it’s at an awkward stage where it sounds eerie but no more. unfortunately too. it’s really cool.
FAV TRACK: Death Valley ‘69

lowkey boring. first 3 track run is stellar but aside from taht, this DOES NOT hold up in the slightest. i'm frankly nota fan.

i’ve listened to so much and i don’t care to give my thoughts anymore. this is self indulgent in a way that is appealing rather than alienating.
