One of the most visceral, brutal, and emotionally draining albums of all time. Swans constantly keeps surprising me with how intricate yet moving their music can be. Micheal Gira is a musical genius, no doubt about that. This is a must listen for anyone who is ready to listen to the best music has to offer.
I am genuinely surprised how much of an upgrade BLACK'!ANTIQUE is from GUMBO’!, sounds like an entirely different artist. The future of Hip Hop is finally here, and this record is proof of that.
I just love vaporwave hip hop, it’s such a neat combo. It only makes sense that two genres both heavy in sampling, as well as originating as commentary on society and consumerism combine together. And Burning Desire is a perfect example of that. Well maybe not any deep impactful social commentary. But then again there is a difference between making deep music and good music. And this is certainly good music. Perfect if you like Cities Aviv, and slow, slushy, chill hip hop.
One of the best Gothic rock albums of all time, and no one can convince me otherwise.
Would it be heresy to say this was 10x more enjoyable than Brat? Easily takes the cake for the best dance album of 2024. It’s a crime how slept on it is.
I swear Machine Girl has to go back to making legendary electronic/breakcore music like this again. Everyone knows this is their best record, and for good reason.
The worst album I have ever heard. It’s not even boring per se. It’s just so horrible and terrible to listen to, that I can’t even begin to describe the fear and anxiety I heard from the first song alone. I cannot understand how anyone can give this more than a 10/100 at most. I would rather listen to mainstream radio slop than this cursed and worthless music.
Peggy is one of the greatest in the underground right now. And this record was further proof.
So I got recommended by some people who said this was like Igor. Now this ain’t no Igor but it’s still a pretty decent record worth checking out if you liked Igor or Neo soul in general.
I'm a Tyler Glazer but this had to be one of the worst albums I have ever heard. Thank goodness he's changed since then.
I'll admit I thought this was so painfully mid when it first came out, but its grown on me a lot.
