Rocky slows it down a bit which definitely works in some places (Holy Ghost is an all-timer) I definitely feel there are more misses on here than his previous work
Shows that she's immensely talented but the songs are all just slightly too short which always leaves you wanting more from it
I liked the production but it often felt a little too static for me. Lyrics were nice but I felt that the flows often clashed with the production. I like jazz rap and introspective rap but most of the tracks felt more like "rap over a jazz beat" than a finished, combined product. Still, decent project
At some point I realized that people who glaze this album don't actually listen to it. Don't get me wrong, it's a great album, but glazers will tell you it's the best trap album ever made and then fail to remember anything about it. I know this because my friend thinks 3500 is one of the best songs of all time but genuinely didn't even remember 2Chainz was on it.
I can see why a lot of people might not like this, it's pretty heavy on the Cudi-isms. And I do agree he takes it too far every now and then. But overall I think this is a pretty strong project that fans of his earlier work will appreciate.
This legitimately might be one of the most underrated hip hop albums of all time. Kanye organizes what is sonically an upgraded version of the Dropout feel but for a much better writer in Common. The intro alone makes me want to cry. Overall it's super heartfelt and poignant both lyrically and sonically.
This would be a 80+ album if it was only Ty. The production is good, Ty's verses are always great. But Ye somehow has the worst flow and bars I've ever heard in my life and ruins most of the songs.
This probably would've been passable if we never knew about Yandhi but it's just diabolical how he neutered some of the greatest unreleased songs in his catalogue
Sonically its peaks are some of the highest in Ye's whole career. However it just goes on for so fucking long and has so much filler that you somewhat forget the highs by the end. Don't even get me started on the deluxe.
If it was finished it would've probably been his best album since Yeezus
EDIT: listening to this shit again and I almost cried to Sky City bruh why did Jesus Christ have to do the laundry
