Minnie Riperton - Adventures in Paradise

My favorite album of her by far.
Funky instrumentations. Love it. And it has more psychedelic sounds. I adore the whistle notes in this album because in another albums, whistle notes are used like a supplement for the instruments, for layering the sound. On the contrary, Minnie used her vocals as an instrument. The main instrument. Instrumentation is peak for sure.

I love how strong vocals she do.
And the rhythms are stronger than the first album. I think it was the soft sounds from nature. And this is the strong melodies of love.
Stevie Wonder is a writer in album. Amazing.

it gathers pop culture and exaggerating avant-garde sounds with energetic party theme. so, it's so confusing to get used to it but if you get used to it, you'll like it so much.

What an amazing album!
I love its idyllic and epic theme. Takes me to the gardens of heaven. The album's orchestral arrangements and choir make a harmony with Minnie's amazing vocals. Jazzy pop rhythms and baroque elements embrace each other. It's so smooth. In the cover, Minnie puts on a white dress. In the album, her vocals are angelic. I think that's not coincidence. In the album, Minnie represents an angel in the gardens of heaven. There is a dreamy texture in the album. ... read more

Although I don't like death metal, I liked the way of using folky elements. Its melodic structure and instrumentation was wonderful. The depth of theme is tempted me too. I like the way of using nordic folk elements in metal music. But I don't like brutal vocals.
