If you have the chance to listen to this, take it. One of the best instrumental albums I've ever heard.
Sometimes the songs are repetitive, but the creativity with which they were composed makes up for it.
I'd never heard Magma before. They're really strange. I'm used to all kinds of music, but I don't think I'd ever heard anything like this, and unfortunately, that stopped me from enjoying the album as much as I would have liked. I think I just didn't get it. I have no frame of reference to compare it to. I realized that with each listen, I liked it more. So I guess it's a matter of listening to more Magma to appreciate them better.
I remember listening to Sexdictator Lucifer when I was 14 and liking it. Now, at 30, I've listened to it again and it sounds like hot trash The rest of the album is fine.
A refreshing new sound that I really needed. They have a thrash sound, but a refined one. Not violent, but elegant. I also hear a lot of Priest influence. Now it's time to listen to one of their non-metal albums.
