haven't listened to a full length Iceage record since Beyondless (couldn't get into Seek Shelter).
its safe to say this one's a vibe.
very rare to find an album that sounds this good during first listen
when this came out back in 2016, i was disappointed with the amount of the vocoder and autotune Vernon used on this.
now almost a full decade later, i feel like i'm finally vibing this one. waayy more than his self-titled.
still can't beat the raw intimate sound of For Emma, but I appreciate the risks JV took on this one
A step up from Hug Of Thunder in my opinion. Feels like vintage BSS.
Missing some Emily Haines vocal contributions though
makes you want to sip a gin and tonic while wearing a pair of comfy moccasins on a boat. guess that's why they call it yacht rock
