As you guys already know earl is my favorite rapper from odd future and also just one of my favorite rappers in general. And i gave his 2023 record with the alchemist a 100. Many people consider this to be one of his weakest, however i believe not only is this album perfect, but also its by far his best
And why?
Its the dream earl album. It coulda been better imo if alchemist didnt produce, even if i do think his production is great, i love earls prod way too much. But thats such a small issue ... read more
Mike.
I dont know how i havent heard a single album from the guy, earl sweatshirt is my 2nd or 3rd fav rapper ever, and mike makes pretty similar music to him (even being featured on voir dire)
And plus, MGBYH always appeared on my spotify daily recs, so i decided to give it a shot
Its a great record!
I wouldnt say its the best abstract rap album ive heard but its definitely great. I just wish it wasnt as long as it is
Dumb. He is saying the sun is tired, but the sun isnt an organism. Which means it cant be tired. I expected better.
Honestly kind of an overhated record. Its mid, i didnt get anything out of it throughout the entire runtime, but its not as bad as i was expecting
Thank you gummy bear
This album made my childhood as well as many other peoples
Anyways its ass
I vaguely remember my granny playing this to me when i was 4 years old, however i wouldnt let her finish cuz as soon as IAYGB was over id ask her to put it again
Unsurprisingly, its my favorite song from the entire thing. ITS JUST PAINFULLY CATCHY IM SORRY
I think up to im a scatman the quality of the album was decent. Like a light 5
Then it gets fucking ass 😭
Like ok im not complaining ts ... read more
The very first album to make me cry. Congratulations, Mac Miller's Estate. Theres much to be learned with you
UNFORTUNATELY, theres one mistake on this album. Transformations is probably the worst song from Mac Miller ive ever heard. Im so sorry but it sucks bad
Happily, not long after, the album recovers with possibly the best 10-15 mins track oat. Thank you Mac Miller, for everything.
After a few listens on redveil's 2022 album "learn 2 swim", i can confidently say that YES it is one of the greatest albums of the decade
redveil showcases great production, lyricism, imagery, vocals, and really everything throughout the entire album. Its a concise 35 minutes album that really doesnt miss anywhere. Super hyped for his december 4th album and just for the rest of his career, i really wanna see how far he goes and if he escapes underground
Tall JPEGMAFIA and JPEGMAFIA makes JPEGMAFIA look cool for 36 minutes
2 Years later after 2Pac debuted, he released his 2nd album (which will be called simply by pacs 93 record for the sake of me not saying a racial slur)
Its meh
I like the debut significantly more, it has alot more energy and its considerably smaller which is a big factor as i feel like pacs 93 record is just way too big and its just not as good, this pac album is not an album i will ever comeback to but its definitely not a bad one.
After a long time, i finally decided to tap in JPEGMAFIA!'s OFFLINE! And tbh it was pretty good, but i didnt like it as much as other people
I really dont know what to say, theres some great tracks hidden in a sea of 7/10, which isnt bad (again i reallu enjoyed the album) but i just dont get it, what do people see on OFFLINE! for it to be the highest rated hip hop album of the decade?
Its great tho dgmw
Favs: REBOND!, TN&B!, and HDP!
In no way is this debatably worse than their debut record, as not only this isnt bloated at all but its also just a step up in general. Anyways jvb better
Not as good as i remembered, i thought this was a 95-96, but its still pretty amazing. The production isnt the greatest (aside from title track and 13th floor / growing older, both my favorites btw) but their energy and rapping are unmatched. Its quite possible i think aquemini and stankonia are better than it when i listen to them on their entirety, but its no shame as those 2 are also masterpieces.
Magic shows nas pretty much talking abt how he redefined rap aswell as his vision on current day rap. While i wouldnt even dare to compare this to nas's other albums, its still very good.
From what ive heard from him, this is by far the best mixed album, and i really love his voice here. The rest here, its good. I dont think there are any standout tracks but its very consistent and all of the tracks are very good. Overall this album is very good!
[CLOUD RAP ESSENTIALS 7/50]
My first yung lean album was Jonatan, which is one of my favorite albums ever. The issue is Jonatan is like, you know, not cloud rap
So yung lean is one of those guys who started making rap and then went from rap to another genre. In leans case he really leaned (😹) into a singer songwriter style, which in my opinion was the right decision as he isnt exactly the best singer. Anyways back to this album, i really didnt know what to expect from his rap stuff, ... read more
Kurtis Blow's self titled record is like the 2nd rap album to ever come out and being completely honest its very good
Kurtis is a great rapper and it shows however i have 2 issues with this album
1. Every song is gigantic
2. The beats dont have like any variety
However even then i do like most of the stuff here, his rapping is great and it does outshine those but overall as an album id not comeback to it, but even then, congratulations Kurtis Blow, this is the first green scored rap ... read more
