Bacchus

I was asked to give this artist a chance by a friend. For context, I used to be a J-Pop freak back in the day and they said that this chick made amazing modern stuff. So I bit like a sucker. I like to think i'm very open minded about music but if this is any indicator of what modern j-pop is like then I think i'm gonna keep my distance lol. I was extremely hype for this album, as Dwellings first album is one of my favorite albums of the genre. And while this album does have some hits and is overall decent it doesn't hold a candle to their first album. It also doesn't really bring anything groundbreaking to the genre as a whole which is a shame. However I do think this album is very decent and worth a couple listens. It just isn't something i'm gonna keep coming back to over and over.

It has been a very long time since i've heard an album that has had me this hooked after a single listen. As their first album this sets the bar for the rest of their albums very high. If they can keep this sort of consistency in the rest of their albums then Dance Gavin Dance will easily become one of my favorite bands.

Simply phenomenal metal album. I'm not very familiar with the members of this band (I am only familiar with Greg Puciato for his work with The Dillinger Escape Plan) but they all do phenomenal jobs on this album. Insane rifts, amazing drums and multiple vocalists that have amazing synergy with each other. A super quality album worth a listen regardless if you are familiar with the band members or not. I'm gonna listen to every members separate bands because of this album
