Against All Logic - 2017 - 2019
75

Quality House project from one of the most beloved electronic artist in the business today, thoroughly enjoyed this record, perhaps not as impressive as 2012-2017, but still, impressive.

Sevdaliza - Shabrang
80

Wow wow wow, this record is one of the most beautiful and enchanting art pop albums of 2020 and I'm so glad it brought my attention to Sevdaliza.

Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure?
85

As far as I'm concerned, this is one of the greatest synthpop albums I've heard in a long time, this thing is a simply mesmerizing dance pop album and I loved loved loved it.

Taylor Swift - evermore
70

Surprisingly, while not by a lot, I actually enjoyed this record more than Folklore, props need to be given to Swift for dropping two albums this solid in quick succession like this, hope she keeps going in an interesting direction

Taylor Swift - folklore
70

Apparently Taylor is making good music now, ok, why not? It's a solid folk pop album with some great songwriting and I'm all for it

Clown Core - Van
70

There's lots to love about this record, I'm glad I was turned to it, my only issue with it is really that I think these sounds could've definitely been explored more thoroughly in a longer project, I feel like I was given just a taste of something that could've been a lot greater

Waxahatchee - Saint Cloud
45

It honestly surprises me that so many people fuck with this, am I missing something? for albums that are so lowkey and unadventurous I normally look for great songwriting and lyricism, but honestly that is not what this album is from my point of view, I really don't get it.

Soccer Mommy - color theory
60

It's certainly not bad, but like always, Soccer Mommy's sound just fails to excite me at every turn, there isn't much for me to sink my teeth into.

Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia
70

I definitely didn't expect to be enjoying a Dua Lipa record in my life, but here we fucking are I guess, it's a solid album with some great electropop tunes, and hey, I'm excited to see where she goes next

The Flaming Lips - American Head
80

beautiful psychedelic pop entry from legends The Flaming Lips, what's not to love about this album?

Deerhoof - Future Teenage Cave Artists
80

Surprised to see such a low user score for this album, absolutely loved it from beginning to end, maybe it's not Deerhoof's best, but when you have such an extensive and beloved discography, that tends to happen

Adrianne Lenker - songs
75

Great record from the Big Thief frontwoman, one of the best indie folk outings of the year and deserving of all the respect it's getting.

Neptunian Maximalism - Éons
70

It's a dense and oppressive metal/jazz record that really displays some interesting sounds throughout, I definitely understand why so many people love this album, it's a great start for Maximalism.

Avenade - Vice Versa in Such Things
55

Just like with Avenade's 2019 project, I simply don't get what the fuss is al about. The sound is even one I tend to really enjoy, but there's just nothing displayed here that I especially enjoyed, and the influences are worn on the sleeve just like with last year's record.

A. G. Cook - Apple
45

I have nothing but respect for all that A. G. Cook has done in cultivating hyperpop and pc music, but damn, his personal projects just do not pan out to me, there was even less positive coming out of "Apple" than there was out of his megaproject "7G". Hope he can drop something I can enjoy in the future.

A. G. Cook - 7G
55

I don't get the hype, album starts off strong but then it's just up and down super inconsistent, and holy shit, there is no justification for the runtime

Adrianne Lenker - instrumentals
60

It's very pleasant to have in the background, but I don't see much more coming from it, it's just nothing special in my opinion, maybe if I was more familiar with Lenker's work I'd enjoy it more, but as it stands, it's just nice relaxing background music, nothing wrong with that.

Loathe - I Let It in and It Took Everything
70

If this record had come out about 10 years ago, it would be amazing.

It's a really solid album and I enjoyed it, but it's held back from greatness primarily by its obvious influences that weren't used in too interesting a way, especially on the slower tempo songs, however, it's still a solid album that I thoroughly recommend.

doin' fine - shoop da woop part 911 (a biblical friend-fiction)
60

The absolute gen z shitposting energy is still present on this album, but while there are a lot of worthwhile things coming off this project, I feel as though the less adventurous instrumental palette was detrimental to Doin' Fine's second project of the year.

The best part of the record was the interlude ranting about V-Sauce 2.

doin' fine - TWINKS GOING TO HELL FOR BEING TWINKS
70

This album is gen z shitposting energy encapsulated, it speaks to me in a major way. It might not be the perfect album, some of the genre mashups don't really work in my opinion, and some of the lyrics sound like the band is trying just a little too hard to sound funny and like they don't give a fuck, but still, really solid release that needs more ears on them
