Sufjan on autopilot lmao
At least Landslide was cool, could see myself coming back to that and the opener which had a good outro. Way too much filler for me to like this though, too many tracks just felt like him going through the motions
Haven't used this site in a while, just wanted to say that this has slowly grown into one of my favourites, it's just so fun and sounds truly wild for something which came out in 1991. Mercury Rev is an exceptional band and they'd go on to release a number of other great albums, but to me none of them quite measured up to this one, their wacky neo-psych masterpiece.
Favourites: Chasing A Bee, Frittering, Coney Island Cyclone
Least Favourites: Syringe Mouth

It's a little padded out with filler at times and some of the skits really did NOT age well, but the good stuff on this album is really impressive and holds up very well. Songs like "Gimme The Loot", "Everyday Struggle" are strong highlights thanks to timeless production and Biggie's impressive rapping. However, there are also songs like "One More Chance" and "Me & My Bitch" which in my eyes could have easily been cut to make the album more focused ... read more
