Came into this wanting a comforting taste of americana and wasn't too disappointed. Some great songs like South and Pine are on here, and it's overall an enjoyable enough album with a slightly tiring runtime.

This record was made in the midst of the Beatles' insane late 60s run. While other albums in this period contain more experimentation or general acclaim, I think Magical Mystery Tour blends the pop and artistic flair of the Beatles better than any other. I think this album demonstrates the beauty of human performance. Use of a Player Piano/Disklavier by people like Aphex Twin is cool and serves a purpose, but a composition like Strumming Music relies heavily on the minor imperfections and fluctuations of the human touch.
