Meshuggah - Immutable
83

The grandfathers of Djent have struck lightning in a bottle... for the hundredth time. For an album that gets so much hate, this is easily one of their most technical in my opinion, and one of their most catchy. The downbeat, more brutal side of things that Koloss kickstarted have done wonders for Meshuggah in their older age. Also, They Move Below is one of the sickest instrumental metal tracks I've ever heard in my life.

Gojira - The Way of All Flesh
95

Gojira has reached its creative peak with this one, and I will absolutely debate anyone that chooses to omit this from lists of Greatest Metal Albums Of All-Time. The Art Of Dying is extremely complex whilst egregiously beautiful. Oroborus scratches that tappy-riff part of your metalhead brain. Toxic Garbage Island has their most brutal intro to date. Ils sont fous, ces Français!

Gojira - Magma
76

Gojira goes Post-Metal, slash Groove Metal, and it slaps. Some emotional tracks in there for sure, and some genuine heavy hitters as well, Whilst not replicating the pure, aggravated intensity that their 2000s albums brought, this remains a Gojira album through and through.

Gojira - Fortitude
63

I want to like this record more, I do. But ''The Chant'' is genuinely their worst song to date. This is a follow-up from the more accessible, commercial sound of Magma, and whilst still packing a punch in the 2020s, their intensity seems to have declined here. Still, this is an album worth listening to every couple of months.

Death - The Sound of Perseverance
91

The pinnacle of Death and Chuck Schuldiner. This is the absolute most complete Tech Death Metal record to be released, to this day, even with all the new-school virtuosos. Not to mention that Spirit Crusher practically poofed the entire modern Metalcore scene into existence with one riff. And it's not even in the top 3 riffs of that song. Need I say more? RIP Chuck.

Chris Barnes sounds like a dying mouse throughout this entire uninspired, lazy excuse of a record. Oh cool, the riff from The Noose sounds ok for like the first 10 seconds. Fuck you.

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
97

Shine On You Crazy Diamond, 1 THROUGH 10, is my favorite song of all-time, all genres combined. Welcome To The Machine sends shivers down where you didn't know you could have shivers, with its eclectic synths and vocals. Wish You Were Here is an incredibly emotional piece that will make you reminisce of someone you kirkenuinely empathize with. I've knocked this down three points because of how out of place Have A Cigar feels. Don't get me wrong, it's great... but out of ... read more

Slipknot - Iowa
88

Arguably the greatest (and non-arguably, the heaviest) Nu Metal album ever put together, with some of the gnarliest vocals in the entire Metal sphere to this day. Every single track drags you down to this aggressive, pessimistic, antagonistic layer of personal hell that the band went through during this period of time. They say art comes from the rawest of emotions. They weren't wrong.

Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone
65

This feels like a continuation of Vol 3, with a bit more grittiness in Corey's voice and perhaps a tiny bit more of redundance, unfortunately. Still, this album has plenty of replay value with bangers such as Dead Memories, Psychosocial, Sulfur, and the title track All Hope Is Gone, just to name a few. It does feel frustrating, however, that for the added complexity in songs like Gematria, there's oversimplistic meat-and-potatoes whatevers (AKA Butcher's Hook , Vendetta, ... read more

Slipknot - We Are Not Your Kind
84

This would have a higher rating if My Pain didn't exist. The transition songs are honestly great and fit quite well in the overall atmosphere of this record. Nero Forte, Solway Forth, Unsainted have become Slipknot classics. Even filler songs like Birth Of The Cruel and A Liar's Funeral complement this album. And then My Pain hits and you want to rip out your ears and feed them to an alligator.

Slipknot - The End, So Far
25

Easily their worst record. There's maybe one or two songs that have replay value in there, the rest is pure slop that sounds like its been made in a couple of days whilst high on cow farts.

Mononc' Serge - L'académie du massacre
78

Un album de métal Québecois très paufiné. Probablement le meilleur collab dans la scène de métal ici. C'est bon les patates.

Pink Floyd - The Wall
100

Probably the single greatest concept album of all-time. 'nough said.

Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight
75

Definitely a most-listen. This feels like a refined version of Meteora; an album that corrected the wrongs and amplified the rights, with JUST the required amount of grittiness. Banger.

PeelingFlesh - The G Code
78

PeelingFlesh did it again! Nasty-ass riffs, gurgley vocals, your typical meme intros. If you love PF, you'll love this album. If you hate PF, you'll wish you could kick the vocalist in the balls.

Corpse Pile - Hardgore Deathmetal
70

Some good ole Slam to get a good workout in. Nothing revolutionary, nothing atrocious. Vocals are great!

Babirusa - Humanoid
76

This LP is a goldmine for modern Deathcore riffs and shenanigans. The intro (343) is my favorite track, and Pendulum Swing is a close second. On rare occasions, in some songs you can hear the timing being slightly off-putting and unperfect, however it slightly gives some charm to the album considering how small and undiscovered Babirusa still is.

Obscure Of Acacia - The Biggest Lie
88

Easily one of the best Deathcore albums I have had the chance to lose myself into. The brutal riffs and vocals in ''Rope'', ''The Biggest Lie'' and ''The 8th Circle'' are unmatched in either old-school and modern Deathcore. Perhaps there is one or two songs on this record that may be considered too digitally polished, otherwise this one is just mind-blowing.

Whitechapel - The Valley
65

The Valley seems to finally depict the more ''melodic'' side of Whitechapel more accurately (compared to Mark Of The Blade). Some of my favorite Whitechapel tracks are on this record; however, for every powerful and deep ballad, there is an additional filler-esque song that reminds me too much of ''Our Endless War'', which I believe to be the lowest point of the band's career in terms of musical prowess.

Whitechapel - Hymns in Dissonance
90

Whitechapel dropped an absolutely massive album with a sound more refined than ever, combining all the elements from their earlier albums but in a more mature way; however, this doesn't feel like a simple homage to their roots, no... This is even greater, perhaps redefining their sound as a whole. Album Of The Year contender without a shadow of a doubt.
