Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf

I'd love to stop giving so many albums perfect scores, but the issue is that I'm reviewing a QOTSA album.

For some reason I have heard some people say that the concept for this album is corny? Uh... how? Personally I have not heard this idea done on another record. If you are not aware, the concept for this album is a guy hopping in his truck and driving through the desert, flipping through radio stations. Look ngl, this isn’t for me. I used to love this band, but I find their lyrics to be a bit corny for my tastes. I also find that too many songs on this album sound far too similar to “Diary of Jane”, but I know that there is absolutely something here that many can enjoy, it’s just not mine to enjoy.

Deemed "Too Political" for Americans at the time.

I don't understand why Soundgarden is lumped into grunge, they really aren't a grunge band. Plus, with the exception of Alice In Chains, they were far ahead of every other grunge band without question. Yes, even Nirvana. Chris Cornell vocally shines on here so well and crushes every single song and makes it look easy. Anyways, I'm gonna go back and listen to this now.

I mean... in my opinion the only competition this has for being the best bond theme is Adele's Skyfall, and even then I may like this a little more.

There is absolutely no reason this song is rated this low. I am extraordinarily biased, as this song is extremely personal to me. This is an emotional trip from start to finish, and an essential song that everyone should hear at least once. The fact that this song is rated so low is kind of sad to me.
