Michael Jackson’s first truly independent project is one for the ages. This funky record is an extremely well made, fun time. While I feel that it falls just short of the title of amazing, it is surely a very great album.
Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough opens the record, and it makes for an amazing start. The instrumentals give the track such a funky feel that is hard to dislike. I think it goes without saying that the vocals are stellar, he is the king of pop after all. There ... read more
The Foo Fighters’ latest project was an interesting one for sure. It deviates from their traditional sound with a lot more distorted vocals and unique tones. While I don’t think those are inherently bad qualities, they do lend to some bad songs and a bit of an ostracizing sound.
Caught In The Echo has an interesting opening with the distorted vocals and the riff. It’s a pretty catchy track and I like the moments with the distant vocal distortion. The vocals are pretty good, ... read more
Billy Joel’s The Stranger might become one of my favorite albums. This is such an incredibly well written and beautifully performed piece of art; I was stunned listening to this at times. In Through the Out Door is the final Led Zeppelin album, and I think it’s the most underrated. This record is disliked by critics and fans, comparatively to their older records, but I quite enjoyed it actually. There’s no bad songs, just some that are weaker than the others, and some great songs as well. I’m glad I could end this deep dive with an enjoyable album.
