All throughout of Navy’s introspection, it feels like I’m being talked to and not as if I was listening to a song. The lyrics are beautiful, and navy has been genuinely one of the best lyricists of this generation for a while now, but the songs feel more like an exposure poem therapy session, rather than music. There are 2 or 3 songs in the project with drums, and there are 12-13 songs that are completely drumless with quiet and shallow instrumentation in the background that never ... read more
I’m crying because I’m disappointed. Although I think the songs sound unique enough to be separated in my head, they just stayed the same the whole way through for the most part. It was boring. The songs felt longer than they actually were. The songs didn’t really pick up much pace, and when it did, it went right back. I really do love the lyrics though. I just wish Vince staples did more with this.

I have no clue how this isn’t more known. Mavi has been someone I’ve been aware of ever since I’ve gotten into music as a hobby around early 2023, and this album always intrigued me. I saw the cover art and decided to listen and even then I found it phenomenal. Other than that I had really never appreciated it for its depth and uniquely beautiful and picturesque lyricism and emotional weight. As I grow, I tend to appreciate this album more and more. Although I am not black, ... read more
Everything that makes a song good is here, but unfortunately sometimes underscores’ voice ruins the experience. I genuinely love some of the songs here, it’s just that I cannot get past her voice on this record being so grating. I want to like this so bad and for the past 3 years I have tried to enjoy it but I can’t. I do recognize the well fleshed out ideas and clear influences here, and I do think that this album is seething with personality. It just can’t stick with ... read more
It’s absolutely beautiful. This album feels like a great summer day and a horrible winter day at the same time. It’s so cinematic and real that it absorbs me every time I allow myself to sink into the album. This is the closest an album could get to being a 10 whilst not being a 10. I love the length of the tracks but it makes it harder to return to, honestly. I wish the tracklist could’ve been doubled and each song could’ve been ~10-15 minutes. I don’t mind the ... read more
It’s interesting… it’s just mind-numbingly boring at the same time. Some of the vocal samples are very annoying and clash way more than feel put together. I love the drum samples though

This is just amazing. Idk if it’s album of the year or if it’s status update music. Super close tho
the atmosphere this album has is so apparent and heavy. it sounds dark, but beautiful at the same time. The production is riddled with floaty synths, cloudy drums, and the voice of an angel mosquito. (positive)
I think the interludes are important to the experience, but only Ethel Cain needs to be making a 7 minute interlude. I was so hyped for the track and ... read more
ALBUM OF THE FUCKING YEAR
This is in the top 3 craziest albums I’ve ever heard and it doesn’t make me feel overwhelmed at a single second of it. Thank you Jane Remover for blessing us once again
Earl sweatshirt Discog review 2/9 🙏🙏
After the immature success from his first mixtape, he was sent to a school in Samoa by his mom. He came back in 2012 and began working on his debut, Doris. It is a clear step up in every single aspect comparatively to his earlier efforts. It’s more polished, the beats are better, the performances are better, the writing is more intriguing, it’s longer, and the most apparent quality, it’s mature.
Earl ditches the edgy shit and gets ... read more
Earl Sweatshirt Discog Dive 1/9 ‼️‼️
Wow I remember being 15 in freshman year bumping this all day in September through December. I think the reason I enjoyed it so much was because 1. I was a loser edgy kid (don’t worry no one could tell) and 2. Because although I never thought about it like this back then, it really does capture the way I was when I was a teenager. I was angry, I did anything to be the center of attention, I wanted all eyes on me. This album is a perfect ... read more

Wow this is unfortunate. I was excited and also scared from the singles given because although the singles were good, they all sounded the same. I was also scared that they had released the better songs from the album, and unfortunately, both of my fears turned into a reality. I want to like this so bad, but all of the syncopated plugg and cloud rap beats just really do not fit with both of their dreary and tired delivery. If I were to put this album in a ... read more
There’s some parts that sound super cool, but a lot of it falls off sooo hard like 3 seconds later.
I want to like this more but I just do not like it. Ive heard songs like these, but done way better. The lyrics are so trash bro and when the instrumentals disappoint me every time it sounds like a buildup is happening, it just makes me want to kill myself, frankly. The best part about this album was when it ended, and YES GODDDD, but other than that, to me at least, the sound selection, ... read more
The voice is so ass it’s fire
This is a guilty pleasure and I’m here for it. This is so fucking ass I can’t lie but I just can’t get enough

I love this shit right here
I like this but it suffers from the fact that it feels same all the way through…
It’s good tho but really boring and that’s where I take away most of the points
