my love for black dresses is immense. it's insane to think they have been making music for as long as i've been alive: i discovered them when i was 12 years old, the summer pre covid, and along jack stauber they based the fundamentals of what i love in art and music; loud, noisy, mismatched mixed medias of love and hatred. their breakup was a shock for me and their presence is forever missed (although i side heavily with devi) . this isn't my favourite album of them ... read more
really liked this one. after discovering them through rat wars (thanks hakita for putting HATEFUL in the ultrakill cyber grind) they became my favourite modern industrial metal project. their vibes are not for everyone considering they make internet and anime culture a core part of their visuals (there's a jujutsu kaisen sample in SHRED ENVY, the music video of ASHAMED in RAT WARS has one of the members dresses in an Asuka cosplay) and that can be seen as cringe or performative but i think ... read more
industrial project release by David Szymanski, creator of Iron Lung, Dusk (who is under the same game studio as Ultrakill) and Squirrel Stapler. This album reincarnates rust, dried blood, the word pulp. someone on bandcamp describes it as "the sound of being hit over and over" and i agree although this feels more specifically what i expect dying from curl stomping feels like. it was a joy to listen to and i wish he released more under this project, i'd definitely listen to it. ... read more
this bands deserves all the praise, very happy to have witnessed a deftones album release. this is probably the most shoegaze they sounded in a long time and i quite like that
deeply enjoyed it, the first track has a crescendo from the acoustic guitar to the drums that sets the tone for the rest of the album and it's straighforward and unchanging to the very end, like a depressive episode.
Earthmover is the only song i've truly cried to. it is the only song i listen to when i feel truly devastated because i'm afraid to be desensitised to the final breakdown if i listen to it too much.
I've cried while listening to many songs, but NOTHING makes me instinctively break down like that song. My entire soul reverbates when I hear "we wish we were dead" and the last five minutes are the only moments i let myself bawl without upholding myself to the toxic ... read more

NEW REVIEW: after eating trent reznor's ice cream i can say there are WAY less jaw breaking nuts and much more flavourful ice cream. still not on the same level of the downward spiral but enjoyed it a lot more on a second listen.
OLD REVIEW: this album is like ordering ice cream and trent reznor is the one selling it to you, one condition, he puts crunchy nuts in all his ice cream. you don't like crunchy nuts but you already ate an insane four layered parfait from his ... read more
Their magnus opus for a reason. LOVE the transitions between the songs it's one of the strongest skills of NIN. Sometimes Reznorr's vocals are a little too abrasive (ironic considering it's an industrial album) but overall i really appreciate the themes of the album in contrast with such a clean but desperate voice. Favourite songs are Mr Self Destruct, March of the Pig, I Do Not Want This, The Becoming, Closer, Ruiner. Yeah no i just liked this entire album
really strong opening (everyone likes head like an hole) but i may not be sure, something didn't truly click. it had some really good songs but it's more a selective pick rather than a full album listen to me. favourite songs are head like an hole, terrible lie and Down With It
God this game is SO GOOD. Favourite tracks are The Death Of God's Will (also my favourite track of all the game), Death Odissey, Dune Eternal, He Is The Light In My Darkness and Duel.
I overall prefer the sound of the second act but this one remains a classic to me. Favourite tracks are Versus, Cold Winds, In The Presence Of A King and A Complete And Utter Destruction Of The Senses.
