Chamillionaire is gas, but on these hooks he sounds a lot like 3K. I didn't know what I was gonna expect from a Paul Wall LP and I've heard his name be brought up a lot. It's not bad, mostly for Chamillionaire's banger ass hooks and the overall fun the record holds. Especially that first half is really strong. Songs like N Luv Wit My Money and Thinkin' Thoed are bangers.
On the best of the album both Wayne and 2 Chainz have powerful deliveries and Wayne is a demon with his verses on here. The production has some impressive Jazzy beats too. The album however, lacks consistency and doesn't give a whole lot besides a lot of great new Weezy verses, impressive 2 Chainz vocal moments and only a few all around great songs.
I listened to this all day at work, I didn't stop enjoying the album. So many classics, If it was only slightly tighter I would love this LP.
Such a thick, nasty, and groovy LP. Sly is one of my favorite vocalists from how much passion he shows and the man can hit any note possible. I'm a huge fan of LPs that talks about how corrupt America is. With the time period being even more gross than today, it was an important voice back then and still holds up 53 years later. While I disagree with Sly's idea of "there should be no riots", I still believe the band's voice and the message within the record is powerful. The album's ... read more
Northern Downpour kind of a banger and I enjoyed 2/3 of Behind the Sea, but I'm not a fan of the rest.
The heaviness of the album with songs like war, wastelands, and guilty all the same intrigues me a lot more than other LPs by the band. While this album does have a more heavier tone and sounds more full, it still has those Linkin Park moments that I personally really don't enjoy. The rap aspect from every song besides Rakim gives me chills. Decent for what it is, but compared to their A Thousand Suns album and Meteora the LP does lack that concept and songwriting. If I heard some of the vocal ... read more
So far going through her discography this is easily her best songwriting. There are so many classics on here, even with the more weaker songs there is still a slight nostalgia feeling. The best songs on here however are her best yet, especially All Too Well. I'm not a fan of Taylor, but her improvement from Speak Now is clear.
Edit: it's just slightly better than the old, besides 22.
Had it on repeat 4 times at work, then listened to it more when I got back home. Up there with one of the best rage albums. He throws himself into so many wildly different productions it somehow works with every beat. The change on how he controls his voice for the production hits well with some of his most catchy hooks on the LP. I Don't know how he was able to keep an album entertaining for 70 minutes, but Imo he definitely did. The alien goat.
One of the strongest debuts in recent memory. The lp caught me by surprise, my cynical ass thought the quality of the record would diminish. It didn’t however, every song was incredible in its own way.
favorite songs: second nature, No, No, No Pt. 1, and illusion
Not awful, has great moments and overall they're singing is good, but it sounds like 90's autopilot for around 95% of the time.
The more I listen the more I love it. I'm addicted to this record right now.

What Happened? I came in expecting to love this, but I was wrong. It has the hardest to listen to lows, the song writing is some of the worst since he started the Carter series like on the song "It's Good" Wayne's final lines include "Dear Mr. Ouija
N.., I'm straight, my girl a F... Potato on the barrel, pop-pop-potato salad." I'm sorry I love Wayne, but this is not good. I'm missing the incredible production from carter 2. Carter 3 strayed away a little from that sound and ... read more
I'm so pissed, I wanted to listen to this earlier, but got busy. Fantano decides to drop a review right before I listened to it, I'm crying and shitting angry. It's so fucking good though. She steps into so many genres and tones. She makes it work every time in both sounding incredible and making it work into the album. Love this LP, wish I had money for that signed vinyl when it came out. Pissed and sad.
The only songs I like are Ana and Down to the Well, but this is the first album by PIxies that I haven't enjoyed. There are songs on the LP that I find extremely annoying and/or corny. The vocals are awful on most tracks and the song writing is leaning Weezer with songs like Allison. Surprisingly underwhelmed as hell.
