I listened to this only because somebody on RYM mentioned that Portishead were influenced by this (and his "The Drift") for their record "Third", which is one of my all time favourites. NWW's "I Am the Poison" is sampled on "Des plaines" (or they both sampled the same source)
I get very sad when a record is diverse (uNfOcUsEd, iNcOhErEnT, aLl-OvEr-ThE-pLaCe, and other fantano-esque buzzwords) enough for me to theoretically like it, but I cannot enjoy the actual sounds
I find it tedious that between the 2 songs I like ("Lunch" & "The Diner" - the 2 *nutritious* titles) there's a whole gap of generally generic and indistinguishable ballads, with the exception of the ending to "L'amour de ma vie".
"Birds of a Feather" sounds like a baby-child of Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" and Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love".
That title track sounds like an intro song to a cheap rip-off of a sitcom in the vein of "Full House" or "Married with Children".
I can't decide whether I dislike more this cover or the original "Across the Universe".
I only like "Fame".
People complaining that "Never Again" is too loud and abrasive obviously haven't heard a whole japanoise record, let alone a discography by a power electronics outfit or some very outsider free jazz ensemble.

Favourite numbers: Ko ti to baje, Pamet u glavu
These fun punchy instrumentals are superior to the bland samey vocalizations, which unfortunately overshadow them and don't let this record shine as brightly as it most certainly could.
Brötzmann at his most melodic and most peaceful I've heard him so far
It kinda reminds me of Amon Tobin's "Electronic Music for the Sydney Opera House", although I may be remembering that record wrong (and I think that one is more varied)
