Venetian Snares - printf<"shiver in eternal darkness/n">;
NR

"Cruel Whole" samples "Duel of the Fates" by John Williams

Marčelo - Napet šou
90

I fell sick every time I heard this record, that's why I haven't heard it entirely again for many years

Scott Walker - Tilt
NR

I listened to this only because somebody on RYM mentioned that Portishead were influenced by this (and his "The Drift") for their record "Third", which is one of my all time favourites. I got very disappointed when I learned how terribly off-putting his voice here is to me, unlike the wonderfully varied vocals by Beth Gibbons, which I enjoy profoundly; and how the fairly solid broody instrumentals unfortunately fail to excite me as much as Portishead's rich arrangements on ... read more

Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
100

Magnum opus by the artist, IMHO

Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother
90

The last great record by Pink Floyd, IMHO

Pink Floyd - Animals
0

Worst Pink Floyd record with Roger Waters, IMHO

Venetian Snares - Doll Doll Doll
NR

*listens to Whitehouse once*

NR

NWW's "I Am the Poison" is sampled on "Des plaines" (or they both sampled the same source)

Venetian Snares - My Love Is a Bulldozer
50

I get very sad when a record is diverse (uNfOcUsEd, iNcOhErEnT, aLl-OvEr-ThE-pLaCe, and other fantano-esque buzzwords) enough for me to theoretically like it, but I cannot enjoy the actual sounds

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
10

I find it tedious that between the 2 songs I like ("Lunch" & "The Diner" - the 2 *nutritious* titles) there's a whole gap of generally generic and indistinguishable ballads, with the exception of the ending to "L'amour de ma vie".
"Birds of a Feather" sounds like a baby-child of Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles" and Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love".

David Bowie - Young Americans
1

That title track sounds like an intro song to a cheap rip-off of a sitcom in the vein of "Full House" or "Married with Children".
I can't decide whether I dislike more this cover or the original "Across the Universe".
I only like "Fame".

Jelena Karleuša - Ogledalce
50

Solid debut, I love "Biću tvoja"

John Zorn - Kristallnacht
100

People complaining that "Never Again" is too loud and abrasive obviously haven't heard a whole japanoise record, let alone a discography by a power electronics outfit or some very outsider free jazz ensemble.

Jelena Karleuša - Revolution
90

Very great early post-folk
Favourite numbers: Ko ti to baje, Pamet u glavu

Sia - Healing Is Difficult (10th Anniversary Edition)
50

These fun punchy instrumentals are superior to the bland samey vocalizations, which unfortunately overshadow them and don't let this record shine as brightly as it most certainly could.

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
90

Without "Cloud of Unknowing" this would be a 100 and hearted

Nyctophiliac - Dark Side Of The Mental
90

I doubt he's gonna ever top this. Love to be wrong

FaceHead - Forgotten Files and Love Songs
NR

First track samples The Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog"

Peter Brötzmann - Chicken Shit Bingo
NR

Brötzmann at his most melodic and most peaceful I've heard him so far

Venetian Snares - She Began to Cry Tears of Blood Which Became Little Brick Houses When They Hit the Ground
NR

It kinda reminds me of Amon Tobin's "Electronic Music for the Sydney Opera House", although I may be remembering that record wrong (and I think that one is more varied)

"What are better gamelan records, in your opinion? I am going through the most highly rated gamelan releases on RYM and this was one of them, but I'm always curious for more gamelan - it might be my favourite traditional music out there (not to mention that I based my artistic alter-ego on a fictitious person from Yogyakarta)"

"A huge difference between the 1986 version (which, apparently, still aren't the original recordings, but remixes by the label RRRec themselves) and the 1993 re-issue is the bonus disc "Loop Panic Limited".
