Nevermind, THIS is the best album I've heard this year. Beats made me jizz, nuff said.
This is easily their worst album. The music is dull and lifeless throughout most of it. They sound about as interested in the music their making, as they look interested in being on the album cover. The most annoying thing is that this album has a lot of potential. If they leaned more into the "old school rock and roll" thing on Rock and Roll Music and Kansas City, it could at least be slightly better. A Hard Day's Night is a drastic step up from the first 2 albums. Rather then the same rinse repeat of "12 generic love songs that we can market to teenage girls" thing they did in 1963, The Fab Four grew an artistic spine. The title track is a quirky, fun song, that highlights Johns vocals. The first time I heard this album, I thought it was quite good. On second, then third listen, I understand more of the criticism. The first half is quite strong (with the exception of Little Child because what the fuck.) All I've Got To Do and Till There Was You are nice love songs, with the latter featuring some fun experimentation with bossa nova by George. The B side feels far more rushed.
