Again, another band I had no clue were still active. Better Days is fine but pretty generic. honestly i is much better and a pretty good track
De La Soul’s second album is just as fun as their debut! Feels about as true as a second album could have been. The beats are amazing, the lyrics are fantastic and the production is incredible!
Favourite tracks: Oodles of O’s, A Roller Skating Jam Named “Saturday”, Bitties in the BK Lounge
Least favourite: Fanatic of the B Word (excluding all the interludes)
Kinda relevant now what with American politics and all that. Hell even the band know it.
Really underated! A lot of amazing tracks. Everything works incredibly well to create a masterclass indie album! While the concept is a bit lose, you get the gist of it by the end.
Favourite tracks: Here's Your Future, A Pillar of Salt, St. Rosa and the Swallows
Least favourite: Test Pattern
Just the new stuff. It's not bad!
Smash It Like Belushi - Really Fun :) (85)
Stay Young - A bit boring honestly. Whole lot of nothing (60)
Fuck Off - Really like the energy on this one! It's fun as hell! (84)
Ballyhoo - This one grew on me a bit. (80)
Suzie Chapstick (Acoustic) - There was an electric guitar. So it's not really acoustic then is it. (65)
Father to a Son (Acoustic) - This is just the album version but without a few instruments. Still a good track (70)
Undrdog - ... read more
Had no clue these guys were still active. It's a decent little track. Quite like the energy of it.
Jet Set Radio is one of my favourite game series of all time. The style and late 90’s/early 2000’s graffiti culture edge is replicated perfectly! Also the soundtrack by Hideki Naganuma and Richard Jacques is fantastic!
Anyways, This does a pretty good job at replicating the sound and style of JSR. You can tell a lot of passion went into this! The collage of samples really fits the vibe of the original game. If you’re a fan of JSR and haven’t checked this out, what are ... read more
NOTE: I listened to the UK release which has bonus acoustic versions of the tracks "Baby Come On" and "Weatherman"
Not Bad! A couple of not great or boring tracks but the highs make up for them.
Favourite tracks: Lycanthrope, No It Isn't, Make You Smile
Least favourite: Interlude
A pretty good EP from the band. Similar to their first but a bit better.
Favourite Tracks: Little Thoughts, Skeleton
Least favourite: Tulips (Minotaur Shock Remix)
Has a lot of that early 2000’s post punk revival sound that I really like and extremely British lyrics at times. Hidden gem in the scene!
Favourite tracks: Strasbourg, Open Book, Work, Work, Work (Pub, Club, Sleep)
Least favourite: Violent
This was a really fun album! More pop-punk should incorporate different instruments like violins.
Favourite tracks: Breathing, Ocean Avenue, Life Of a Salesman
Least favourite: Views From Heaven
The versions of the songs (excluding Say Hello to the Angels) are incredibly rough but kinda enjoyable in a so bad it's fine way
Eh. They’re not doing much to really differentiate themselves from other indie rock acts of the time. That being said there are some really good tracks on here!
Favourite tracks: Superstar Tradesman, Same Jeans, Wasteland
Least favourite: Face For The Radio
This is a gorgeous album! I've listened to this a few times but wasn't on the site both times so here is my review!
Coming out in 2021, after the uncertainty and confussion of 2020, Weezer take a more stripped back approach to an album. No electronic guitars in sight. The orchestration on this album is beautiful and really elevates Rivers singing on here.
Rivers has a more mature and personal writing approach, similar to Pinkerton, that creates a perfect image of being an ageing ... read more
A pretty damn interesting album for a Weezer nerd but not essential listening. Has some pretty good tracks!
Favourite tracks: Homely Girl, Freakin' Love My Life, Kimitofutaride
Least favourite: Owari No Nai Kono Uta
This is a VERY mixed bag. Some really good remixes (personally I think the remix of Thick Skull is just as good as the original!) but also some really bad remixes (I had to skip Figure 8 it was that bad).
With a bit more quality control this could be one of the best remix albums, but one too many tracks are just not that good or interesting. A fine companion to the main album, but not essential.
Favourite tracks: The News, You First, Thick Skull
Least favourite: Figure 8
Actually pretty damn good. Jack made a great demo into a good, radio friendly pop track
They definitely needed the polish up that Tourist History had but the hits are already here! Reminds me of MGMT’s Time To Pretend Ep in that way. Rough but the sound is there.
