Feeder - Echo Park
82

Feeder are such an underated band. This is some great early 2000's alt-rock right here! Some amazing tracks on this!

Favourite tracks: Buck Rogers, Seven Days in The Sun, Under the Weather
Least favourite: Satallite News

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
80

Note: I listened to the 1990 CD remaster which has some bonus demos which is nice

It’s Pet Sounds. It’s a classic. Took a while to really click but I like it well enough. One of the most important things ever. 60’s stuff isn’t my typical style but hey! Also needed to listen for school work so yeah.

Favourite tracks: Wouldn’t It Be Nice, God Only Knows, Caroline, No
Least favourite: Pet Sounds

MGMT - Time to Pretend
79

This is a really good debut! the hits were already in place, just needed a bit of tweaking. Also love the ep art!

Favourite tracks: Kids, Indie Rokkers
Least favourite: Boogie Down

Green Day - nimrod.
100

This might just be my favourite Green Day album!

Nearly every song is so full of life and fun. The use of new instruments is fantastic and really diversifies the band’s sound! Just fantastic!

Favourite tracks: Hitchin’ A Ride, Scattered, Platypus (I Hate You), King For A Day

Silly Stu - McDonald’s in the Pentagon
NR

Kinda just a vibe, ya know?

Gorillaz - Demon Days
100

I mean it’s Demon Days. One of the best albums of the 2000’s. Every song is amazingly beautiful and occasionally whimsical (especially on the last 2 tracks). Just fantastic.

Also has one of the best CD booklets I’ve ever seen, with each track getting its own price of art, which is really cool!

Favourite tracks: Feel Good Inc., November Has Come, DARE

Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News
85

Really great blend of indie pop and rock. The only Modest Mouse song I knew before this was Float On. Surprised at how harsh it can get! Obviously the slower and more somber songs are the best but the others are still pretty great!

Favourite tracks: The World At Large, Float On, The Good Times Are Killing Me

Least favourite: Dig Your Grave

julie - pushing daisies
90

Surprised at how dark and mysterious it sounds compared to My Anti-Aircraft Friend. Damn good! Julie are the best band I found by listening to a track on a whim!

Favourite Tracks: april's-bloom, lochness, skipping tiles
Least favourite: confirmation of entry dispatch (read)

The National - High Violet
90

Amazingly Beautiful. As simple as that.

Favourite tracks: Terrible Love, Bloodbuzz Ohio, Lemonworld
Least favourite: Runaway

Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown
87

Incredibly overhated. There are some amazing songs on this! Stands toe to toe with American Idiot in my eyes!

Favourite tracks: 21st Century Breakdown, Murder City, 21 Guns
Least Favourite: Song of The Century

LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
93

Amazing from start to finish! everything great about it has already been said by everyone else. Every track is a soaring and elevating! A fab album for sure!

favorite tracks: All My Friends, Us v Them, New York, I Love You but You're Bringing Me Down
Least favorite: Watch the Tapes

Operatic - Killing Us Is Easy
85

An incredibly underated pop-punk record! The instrumentals hit hard! Shame they broke up soon after, I feel like they could have been a major underground player in the scene.

Favourite tracks: Interested In Madness, Forget + Think + Tell, The Wall, The Glass, the Ghost
Least favourite: Failed Distraction

OK Go - A Good, Good Day at Last / Going Home
85

Pretty good! I prefer ‘A Good, Good Day At Last’ but both are solid tracks.

Bloc Party - A Weekend in the City
95

Why isn’t this a must hear?!

Absolutely beautiful. Some real heartfelt songs from the band! The insane drumming of Matt Tong returns, Kele comes out with some amazing vocals, and Russell and Gordon Kill it on Guitar and Bass respectively. Fantastic!

Favourite tracks: Song For Clay (Disappear Here), Hunting For Witches, Flux
Least Favourite: Where Is Home?

OK Go - A Stone Only Rolls Downhill
80

Pretty good! A nice little song in an age of doom and gloom.

OK Go - Hungry Ghosts
75

A pretty solid indie pop album. Mostly a lot of fun with some tender moments thrown in. The slow tracks are just alright but the upbeat ones are really good!

Favourite Tracks: Upside Down & Inside Out, I Won’t Let You Down, The One Moment
Least Favourite: If I Had a Mountain

Caesars - Paper Tigers
73

Honestly kinda surprised with this!

Caesars never really contributed much to the wider music scene, but honestly, they’re kinda underrated. Some solid mid 2000’s indie right here. My one major complaint is that it gets a bit sandy in the middle.

Favourite tracks: Jerk It Out, We Got To Leave, Soulchaser
Least favourite: Winter Song

We Are Scientists - With Love and Squalor
78

Not a bad album! Some really good songs but also some just alright ones. Also cute casts so extra 5 points.

Favourite tracks: Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt, This Scene Is Dead, The Great Escape
Least favourite: Textbook

No better time than now since what’s happening in America

I mean it’s a classic. One of the heaviest but also funkiest political statements ever! Tom is one of the best guitarists ever and you can’t tell me otherwise. Just wish I could add tracks to my YouTube playlist without being warned about the cover.

Favourite tracks: Bombtrack, Killing In The Name, Bullet In The Head
Least Favourite: Township rebellion
