While not as good as Funeral, Neon Bible is still a great album! It has a bit of a different sound from Funeral but it’s still really good and still sounds really nice.
The wider range of instruments (such as harps) is neat and fits the bands sound perfectly. Excellent album!
Favourite tracks: Keep the Car Running, (Antichrist Television Blues), No Cars Go
Least favourite: Neon Bible

Removed the score so my best of 2025 section isn’t messy and replaced it with the actual release.
Original review:
I had no idea that this was even a thing until about an hour ago. Hayley, you can't just hide new music behind hair dye for 3 days!
Surprisingly good and my current contender for AOTY (not like I listen to that much new music anyways). Some amazing Paramore-esque tracks and some brilliant slower, thoughtful tracks. Also, interesting release with ... read more
This is going to be a general review of the 3 new tracks on the 2009 rerelease
Letters to My Son: Decent little track. Reminds me a bit of Silent Alarm (78)
Your visits Are Getting Shorter: Banger and a seriously underrated track! (85)
one More Chance: This is the most Rave BP have gotten and it’s pretty damn good! (81)
This album would have benefited from a better lead single. Intimacy has some of Bloc Party’s best and most exciting tracks, slightly brought down by a couple of mediocre ones.
The electronic elements of A Weekend In the City are more prevalent and work pretty well. The band are still in great form, especially Matt Tong, his drumming still is some the best! A misunderstood album to say the least.
Favourite tracks: Signs, Talons, Ion Square
Least favourite: Mercury
Music for your party where you want some class but not too much.
A classic indie album through and through. The instrumentals are very good and blend very nicely with the vocals to sort of create this almost rich vibe in a way.
Favourite tracks: Oxford Comma, A-Punk, Walcott
Least favourite: One (Blake’s Got a New Face)
A couple of decent b-sides that are tacked on to the re-release of 45:33. Not their best work but decent songs nonetheless.
Ranking: Track order
A really great composition and companion piece to Sound Of Silver.
The more spacey sound is really interesting and I kinda wish they explored that sound later in their catalog. Also I didn’t realise that the instrumental for Someone Great was literally part 3 of this so that kinda cool!
This was honestly incredibly good and way different than how I imagined it would be!
I expected everything to sound like Semi-Charmed Life, but there’s a pretty even split between that and heartfelt ballads. Both work surprisingly well together!
Only complaint would be that tracks 8, 9, and 11 could be cut and nothing would be missed (London is pretty good so it can stay).
Favourite tracks: Semi-Charmed Life, Graduate, The Background
Least favourite: I Want You
Incredibly fun and interesting! This whole album really does feel like a Dead Man’s Party.
Favourite tracks: Dead Man’s Party, No One Lives Forever, Weird Science
Least favourite: Help Me
This isn’t actually that bad. A bit basic and pretty safe (probably due to the poor performance of Hymns) but not one of their worst

This is one of the best Ska Punk albums by a long shot in my eyes. Extremely energetic and actually feels like punk quite a bit!
Favourite tracks: So Let’s Go! Nowhere, Kill The President, Last On My List
Least favourite: Have Fun Rotting by Yourself
Step one of becoming a pretentious music nerd.
Yeah. It sounds gorgeous and pretty, but also depressing and emotional. It’s unique sounds made by the vast range of instruments is stunning! Deserving of its high regard.
Favourite tracks: In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, Holland, 1945, Ghost
Least favourite: Communist Daughter
Another good single! Sounds very nice
I am very confused. This was incredibly unfocused and bizarre but also great and has some fantastic tracks on it.
One of the most mixed bag albums I’ve heard but the highs are really high, and the lows range drastically from alright to straight up unlistenable at times. You can clearly tell that this was a rough draft for what would become a much better listen with Odelay.
Favourite tracks: Loser, Fuckin With My Head, Beercan
Least favourite: Sweet Sunshine

One of the most obscure (kinda) official releases from Beck, Cities compiles the 3 tracks Beck did for the Playstation game Sound Shapes. The tracks are still exclusive to the game after over a decade, but are up on Youtube with multiple uploads.
The visuals really enhance the music, especially with the titular track, but it's still really good without! A hidden gem ... read more
What a debut!
Everything feels so lush and beautiful. The absolute majesty of the instrumentals combined with the gorgeous vocal performances! Easily one of the best introductions to a band ever!
Favourite tracks: Neighbourhood 1-3, Wake Up, In the backseat
Least favourite: Une année sans lumière
A slightly grittier version of Dookie. Kinda under appreciated If you ask me!
The album leans more into the punk side of pop-punk, seen by how no song ever goes beyond 3 and a half minutes and the lyrics, which I don’t mind. The band are still as strong as ever and Billie has some great vocals on this!
Favourite tracks: Geek Stink Breath, Panic Song, Brain Stew
Least favourite: Bab Uvula Who?
An angry, screaming statement of power. Courtney Love puts her all into this album with some great vocals and lyrics! The instrumentals aren’t amazing but still very good. Easily one of the best grunge albums!
Favourite tracks: Violet, Jennifer’s Body, Doll parts
Least favourite: Rock Star
