Listening to MCR again to cope with trauma :( gonna be an angsty scene kid again
I'm genuinely surprised how much this sounds like Weezer, this album is REALLY good. While it sounds mostly like a weird Pinkerton-Blue lovechild, it also feels like it has its own uniqueness.
Is it good for a Weezer album?
For a basis, we need a set of good Weezer albums in the first place. For me, it's their more rock side of music. Blue, Pinkerton, Maladroit. But I do like some of Green, Red, and Teal. Everyone can agree that Blue and Pinkerton are their best. Does this compare? Yes.

I wrote paragraph, after PARAGRAPH writing a review, but I just can't like this album no matter HOW hard I try, it physically fucking hurts. My brain genuinely ACHES.
Its so obviously a low effort troll album thrown together to make the fucking caveman critics approve and like this more than pinkerton and Rivers could lol about it knowing he farted into the microphone for 30 minutes compared to HOW incredible pinkerton was. Jesus christ, its so BORING. IT FEELS LIKE THE SAME SONG LOOPED OVER ... read more
With the direction Weezer has been in recently, they should just break up. Can't Knock The Hustle is really the ONLY memorial song from this entire album, the rest are so forgettable. Everything changes, I get that. If they stayed the same rock band forever people WOULD get tired of it, but people are already tired of the change. If anything, they should either switch back to rock or just break up.
rivers cuomo: my name is jonas
me: haha silly rivers ur name is rivers cuomo of the hit band weezer!! not jonas!!
Its not that bad, I actually kinda like it. Mr. Blue Sky and Happy Together are really the only ones that have great chemistry with weezers prod and vocals.
One of my all time favorite albums right now, It's incredible and truly underrated. An album that was just an experiment was their best, easily. The vocals and instrumentals are all perfect, almost every song is memorable especially She Had The World and Folkin' Around. It's so unique from their other albums, which is why I adore it. It also has so much more personality compared to their other stuff. I never get tired of listening to it, I've listened to it over ten times and I still enjoy ... read more
I genuinely feel kind of ashamed to like this album after all the bad rep it's got
I was always too scared to listen to this album, as an mcr fan at the time it intimidated me. But after getting out of my emo mcr stage, I finally decided to listen and I liked it. Gerard solo is great, and this album shows that. Completely different from mcr, which I appreciate. I liked this album more than I thought, but I don't really mind. The vocals are good, but I also like the instrumentals. Its obviously not amazing, but some people feel that way and thats fine. Its quite short, but I ... read more
Definitely an improvement from Life Is Peachy, more memorable songs and not as bad lyrics. Not as much as a guilty pleasure, but definitely still do feel guilty. From what I've seen, Its quite literally a hit or miss. You fucking hate them or love them, no inbetween. Its not the BEST nu metal album I've ever heard, but its still good. Its definitely an iconic one too. While its kinda long, you can manage to sit through it as you're emersed in the white noise that is destroying vocals and ... read more
While the lyrics are laughably bad, I really do like the vocals and always adored korn's instruments. This album is definitely a guilty pleasure. Would I recommend? Maybe? Would I listen again? Definitely.
