Slaughter to Prevail - Kostolom

Meh. Like 3 mid at best songs. Cool instrumentals and decent vocals but overall its just not that interesting to listen to.

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly

I don't even like hip-hop, but even I gotta admit this shit was pretty damn good.
I'd say this and Graduation by Kanye are the only hip-hop/rap albums Ive ever actually enjoyed, the genre has never appealed to me and I have always found it boring, but this was an absolute masterclass in writing and production. Absolutely worth the hype in every respect, not perfect imo since im still not a fan of the genre as a whole so there are things on this album that are just not for me, for ... read more

Points off for setting my CD player on fire back in the day.
Idk how that happened but it somehow did, managed to get up to Faint and then the back of the CD player started smoking. Sign of a good album lmao.
Coming off the back of Hybrid Theory, still the best Nu Metal album ever released, we where greated by this. My only gripe is that the bangers on this one shine to brightly, leaving some songs to be a bit more lackluster than others. But I still adore this one.
A solid follow up to Hybrid ... read more

Pierce The Veil - Collide with the Sky

This album is so close to being perfect.
Immediately it gets me hooked in, the transition from May These Noises Startle You In Your Sleep into Hell Above gives me chills. the first half of this album is just banger after banger. There's a couple of songs in the middle that I find to be a bit weaker, still great, but I feel like they dont keep up with the rest of the album. Still an absolute classic, and I love me some emo slop.

Linkin Park - Papercuts

Yoooo, finally got QWERTY on streaming. W.
It's a nice compilation that celebrates each era of the band, nothing but absolute slappers bro.

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

Damn, this shit bangs.
One of the most unique things ive listened to in a while. Im not even sure what to compare this with to be honest.
It's both hype and relaxing at the same time and oddly nostalgic although im not sure where that feeling is coming from, not complaining though. The weird, wonderful and almost dream like instrumentals really pull you in, and the vocals almost put the listener at ease. Definitely one of the best of 2024 for me.

Kanye West - Graduation

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
As someone who doesn't particularly like Hip Hop, at all really, this was quite enjoyable. Strong 7 out of 10 from me. I know truly understand the meaning of "He made Graduation tho".
Barry Bonds and Drunk and Hot Girls fucking suck.

Declan McKenna - Zeros

"Im off to buy a bag of Quavers, and Nike trainers" BARS
This album is the unwanted ginger child of The Beatles and David Bowie. Completely devoid of anything interesting, to quote Mr Sinjei "Its nothing music", and I whole heartedly agree. Good production, but god is it boring, sounds like some bollocks you would hear on a car commercial.
Also whats bros obsession with Nike? Swear to god he mentioned Nike shoes on like every song, product placement in a song is actually ... read more

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation

My introduction to the one and only King Glizzy, gotta say im impressed, the dystopian nature of this one is a really cool concept. Im not much of a thrash guy, outside of early Metallica im really not a fan of Thrash Metal, but this one was sick. How each song blends so seemlessly together give this album a really unique feel. Really solid.

Kero Kero Bonito - Bonito Generation

I mean, It was fine.
Probably the most cheerful sounding album Ive listened to, the cheesy lyrics can get a bit annoying here and there and the instrumentals didnt really do anything for me, but it was still okay.

Darkest Hour - Undoing Ruin

Im a sucker for some early 2000s Melodic Metalcore riffs, but after a while the songs on this Album really start to sound very samey, it got hard to tell when one song ended and another began. I noticed that some earlier tracks sounded weirdly tinny, as well as the vocals being super quiet and the drums being way louder than everything else. Overall decent, but compared to other bands at the time who where doing the same thing but better, this one doesn't really stick out that much.

Yaelokre - Hayfields

Holy shit. This was actually incredible, I'm so annoyed my Girlfriend has been gatekeeping this from me for the past god knows how long, but I am glad she finally recommended it to me because that slapped.
From what I understand, there are four characters presented on the EPs cover called "The Lark" and they're telling you a story through song. You really get immersed into it, each song has this weirdly nostalgic feel to it that I absolutely adore, and it also reminds me a ... read more

Generic, overproduced radio "Metal". Mid.

Now this, this is class.
Had the pleasure of seeing them live earlier this year, they opened for BMTH. Had never listened to them before hand so I put this on while I walked to work early January the week before we went, was not disappointed. Probably their best release, love it.

Tenacious D - The Pick of Destiny

TASTE MY LIGHTNING, FUCKER.
Fr tho, if you arent singing the majority of these songs on some drunk karaoke, consider yourself an opp. Got some slappers on this one.
