Interesting progressive rock gone pop towards the elements of that 90s time, a similar agenda was used in the last album (Momentary Lapse) and it worked well. Fairly good but lacking Pink Floyd brilliance for the most part. Still, give me this over most pop acts any day any time.
Pure 80s sophisti pop blended into Pink Floyd's prog and art style. If you are a either a music, 80s or Pink Floyd lover (I'm all, by the way) the result is interesting enough NOT to be ignored or dismissed as cringe bullshit. That said, give me mid-Pink Floyd any day over most pop acts from the UK and US like Arctic Monkeys, Olivia Rodrigo, Green Day or Coldplay.
One of those very progressive avant-gard Pink Floyd albums that despite being odd are still delightful.
Scott Walker's avant-gard powers are so, so fresh. Man feels like an own genre in itself.
Challenging and cinematic experimental dark ambient rock. Some of the percussion sounds you hear in this album is literally a person punching meat. It's all oddly interesting and fascinating. Not recommended for vanilla people regarding music. This is true art.
