the production is so loud, different, and amazing. yet somehow the sound doesn’t switch up a ton, which is fine because of how great the production is in general. i found myself bored at some times because of the similar sound i always had in my ears. and the lyrics don’t really make up for that too much. there are of course amazing songs like yes goddd, crank, old flings, and beat up chanels though
for now, i’m gonna rate this a 90. that could change once i relisten in a different setting. i really loved the sound and how the production all tied together but i wish there was some more differentiation within the album. a lot of songs end up blurring together. standout tracks are looking at you, somewhere in between, the last of england, westerberg, and scared of it.
this was very very solid. i should’ve listened to this a long time ago. unfortunately the first half is much better than the second which is why the score is lower than 90, but the second half isn’t horrible.
everything about this was fucking amazing. the lyrics, the production, THE BUILDUP? this album is gonna be so good
i really did enjoy this quite a bit. it reminded me a lot of the marias, “submarine” and “choke enough” by oklou. i really liked when amaarae switched up the sound a bit and experimented on this record. even when it wasn’t that experimental it was still very good in parts. the end of sex, violence, suicide was so good.
