A very textural and cold album. The drums are industrial and crunchy, and the synths often have an icy or wooden timbre. I personally love the beat-driven tracks a lot more than the ambient ones, but they both add a lot to the experience. Overall the pacing is quite good but I'm not as into the second half as I am the first. A great album overall.

One of the most impressive displays of sound I've ever heard. Every detail feels intentional, and every moment feels essential. Every song is a world. Shattered pieces of humanity are sprinkled through this record, like in a beautiful chord progression or a warped replica of a familiar instrument. Overall a huge achievement in music.

This album trades the previous album's directness and sheer brutality for more nuance and variety, which for me is a step down. Where the downward spiral rails me, this album tickles me.
At its best when its distorted and loud. Overall doesn't do a lot for me, but I still enjoyed it.
