“You could be so much greater/You could escape, you could leave this behind”
This album is disappointing and unnecessary to say the least. I don’t know if this is Will soft launching his born-again Christian arc or what but the lyric changes and removal of every single swear word were so??? Pointless?? I genuinely don’t get what he was trying to achieve with this. After such an out of this world discography this project—especially considering the boring, on the ... read more
“the sky before you, the dark right behind, and in a big city you can start over”
although this album is a nice little listen, it just isn’t really my cup of tea. There are a couple of reeeally lovely tracks sprinkled throughout, but aside from that it struggled to keep my attention or stick out in any particular way.
favorite tracks: In a Lake, Where’s My Phone?, If I Leave, I’ll Change for You, Lightning
least favorite track: That White Cat
“it’s just what you do when you’re in love”
It was a lot easier to listen to music like this in the era of my life when I was mostly free to be unapologetically cringe about my interests, however bland or lacking nuance they may be. I cared a lot less about the depth of lyrics or the complexity or instrumentals back then. Since that period of my life is long past, I decided to visit this album with reasonably high expectations, only to be completely disappointed. ... read more
“watch this city be the death of me tonight”
i just don’t really see the vision here tbh. I mean it’s kind of cute but the optimism and friendship (which seem to be the biggest themes throughout this thing) feel like they’ve been chewed up and spit out. The instrumentals had their moment, such as the wacky part with the guitars towards the end of Don’t Throw Rocks, but idk, other than that this project is just underwhelming.

“always said if I rapped I'd say something significant, but now I'm rappin' 'bout money, hoes, and rims again”
and so begins my listen through of Kanye’s entire discog…What a strong start !!
This album is great, and considering the fact that it’s such a classic there’s not a whole lot I can say that hasn’t been said before. I really loved the production, as well as the overarching themes and critiques of higher education. ... read more
“I am my mother’s child, I love you till my breathing stops”
i really wish I liked this more, considering how partial I am to Lorde’s later projects, but this album just doesn’t do much for me. It feels very of-its-time but not in a good way, especially tracks like The Louvre and Homemade Dynamite
favorite tracks: Liability, Hard Feelings/Loveless, Writer in the Dark, Supercut
least favorite track: The Louvre
“I am still in the belly of the whale”
I haven’t listened to a whole lot of Searows other than his main hit (which I believe is pretty popular on TikTok) but this album is great! It sticks to a pretty fixed formula that I really enjoy, as it stays pretty consistently soft throughout the entire project.
Not to spout the same shit that’s been said a million times, but his sound reminds me a lot of Phoebe Bridgers, and this record really helps to fill the boygenius ... read more
“the silences, I mean they kinda wrap around you, and loosen everything”
a really beautiful and hypnotic record. It’s so interesting to see Parallelograms roll through its cycle of lightheartedness, melancholy, and eeriness so gracefully all in the span of 40 minutes.
favorite tracks: Chimacum Rain, Paper Mountain Man, Sandy Toes, Parallelograms, Morning Colors, Porcelain Baked-Over-Cast-Iron Wedding, Delicious

“another drink my love, and make it tall enough so I can stand up and see all that you’ve done for me”
a nice yet underwhelming listen, I was really expecting more from this record. it. There are a few standout tracks that I really enjoyed (The Very Old Man & Why I Like the Robins). The soft vocals and gentle, almost midwest-emo-esque instrumentals were a nice break from the generic alt rock sound of the rest of the album and they really bring the score up for me. “i’m mean and evil/i’m gonna eat your heart out”
not too bad for my first listen of 2026, although the second half did bore me a little bit. i decided to put this on as background noise while i worked on a journal entry and cleaned up a little bit and i found myself enjoying it wayyy more than i thought i would!
my only impression of this album thus far has been short clips of Little Dark Age and Me and Michael (which are both bangers, undeniably so) from tiktok edits ... read more

i was going into this expecting to like it more but in retrospect i think i was just blinded by nostalgia. it’s fine i guess

“say i’m a martyr, charge that to my ego, i just want all the lights”
it’s not often that I find myself gravitating towards r&b, not because I don’t enjoy it, but because I generally tend to stick to the familiar niches I’ve been stuck with for the entirety of my adolescence. branching out from my usual rotation of bands and artists is pretty out of character for me most of the time.
that being said, this album is incredible. it’s such a ... read more
“mic malevolence defies violence I inherited”
it’s nice, although the second half does tend to drag a bit imo. i really enjoyed Jean Grae’s feature on Somebody’s Gotta Do It, it adds a lot to the album despite only being a small part of the project as a whole.
favorite tracks: Star/Pointro, I Don’t Care, Stay Cool, Web, Somebody’s Gotta Do It
least favorite track: The Mic
“you are the sun and moon and stars are you/i could never run away from you”
it’s just okay. i don’t know man, compared to the rest of their discography it doesn’t even really feel like a Radiohead project. kind of just sounds like another bland and boring 90s alt rock album. also How Do You is sooooo out of place here, it sounds like it belongs on Never Mind the Bollocks, not some Radiohead album from 1993.

this album has been a staple in my family’s household for as long as i can remember, whether that be through the CDs my dad burnt in his twenties or the halfhearted singing from my mom while she prepares her lunch in the morning. despite this, i’ve never just taken the time to sit down and listen to the whole thing front to back, which is crazy in hindsight.
